Every spring I cut back to lose the winter weight but perhaps due to age I gained more this year. Getting close to 200lbs which is over my limit to where I say to myself "stop". Normally I just cut calories which works fine typically but I work a physically active job in construction outdoors and am always exhausted at the end of the day which is why it's not too feasible for me to work out and we're about to increase work hours from dark till dark 6 days a week so I'll need to really stock up on foods that will keep me going with energy. So instead of losing 10lbs I need to lose at least 20 but I can't risk getting too tired while working cause then I'll just have to eat junk to keep up. Cutting calories works for me in general but I'm not going to struggle with feeling weak and tired this year like I used to.

So instead of just eating lighter this summer, I am going to eat just as much but do high fiber and leaner protein foods like starting off breakfast with Grapenuts cereal and eat fiber bars for lunch. ( there aren't too many foods that I can really take to lunch with me on a hot day) Which I've been doing this week BUT I'm still getting hunger pains here and there and a couple times felt a little weak'ish and tired later in the evenings.
I was hoping to find a supplement that not only helps with energy but suppresses appetite..mostly so I don't eat so much in the evenings when I get home or feel hunger pains at work....I know they all claim that but I've never had one that did it.

Has anyone found one that worked well for killing the appetite? Years ago I know Xendrine RF1 worked amazingly well for me...but they outlawed the ephedrine or whatever.

Also, should I also keep eating foods high in carbs or cut back? I tend to eat a lot of potatoe and corn based foods for dinner when I get home. For meats I'm gonna have to stay with chicken cause I'm not into fish....I think my dinner meals will be the area I need to work on.

You have the right idea. Fiber, Protein, Complex Carbs.

Drink plenty of water. Plenty: http://www.livestrong.com/article/441564-difference-between-being-hungry-and-thirsty/

I like to eat egg white omelets(anywhere from 4 to 10 egg whites, depending on how hard I've worked out/played) stuffed with baby spinach mostly, and some cheddar cheese. Throw in whatever vegetables you like.

I've gotten into the habit of eating Greek yogurts with a couple table spoons of ground flax (which I also add to whatever I feel like).

Foods like potatoes and corn are ok, but not by themselves. it's a side, so load up on the Fiber and Protein as much as possible.

As far as a supplement goes, I don't know of any specifically to reduce hunger.

I dropped 70 pounds, last year, in 6 months. How? I stopped eating starchy carbs (potatoes, rice, pasta and breads), and used portion control. Lots of water. LOTS! It helps to make your stomach feel fuller, and helps keep your skin more elastic, so it shrinks as you drop the weight.

The only grains i ate during that time was oatmeal, for breakfast, with cinnamon and stevia, plus some cut up fruit to add flavor. Lots of protein, friendly carbs, in moderation. Fad diets are temporary. Good eating habits are a lifestyle.

vegetables don't fill for long but I think they work okay as snacks just to reach lunch or dinner without hunger pains because the stomach gets something to do.

Fennel makes me feel full enough if I eat lots of it (like half a bulb at least). Plus it's got fiber in it.

I just mainly need something to help curb the appetite I can only bring so much with me to work. Last work week I ate the grapenuts cereal in the morning with a banana in it but I'm hungry again when we all stop at the quick mart. I can ignore it and wait for lunch but those fiber/protein bars aren't quite cutting it as the day wears on. Especially when it's 5:30 and I'll be starved when I get home...That means I'll probably eat a lot more other things like a frozen pizza or something easy that will fill me up since I didn't buy that much in the way of healthier stuff.
Yesterday when I was repairing a fence, it was warm out and I got really tired and been eating like crazy all day today as if I was making up for it.
That's why I need something else to kill that appetite or something to keep me full longer...which is what I thought Grapenuts did. I probably need something with more complex carbs in it too for longer term energy since I'm physically active.

Maybe don't gain "winter weight" in the first place, unless you're training to be a body builder, in which case at least half the mass you put on is probably muscle.

Don't take supps to suppress appetite, that's not healthy. Drink lots of water, eat food that make you feel fuller longer.. Not junk foods, etc.
