Im thinking of getting one of these bad boys.

Anyone know if you can append to a raid5 array with this guy?

and anyone even know where to get it?
thanks

im gonna have a badass setup... i think im gonna get 4 160 gb drives in RAID5.. i need redundancy.... thats hella money..

on second thought, i might jsut get 80 gig drives, i already have 2 of them, and it only takes one parity disk in a raid5 array, right?
same princeple as .par files, right?

remember that to get full use of your 160GB harddrive the controller must support ata133 which i believe the supertrak100 doesn't

just a thought

i have a hard time beiliving a 5,400 rpm drive can put out 133mb/s +

or anything more than 10mb/s bursts anyway

btw, speed is not an issue

it isn't about the amount of data that the drive can send the ata100 and down is limited to i think 137GB harddrives (they won't go higher) so to get to use all 160GB of those harddrives you have to a have a controller that supports ata133...
