My best friend: Beutiful girl, even better in a bikini... FAT?.... HELL NO!..... one day she ended up in the hospital... why?... her weight didnt mean sh!t.... her caloric intake was fine, sometimes even below recommened, and she did exercise.. it was the QUALITY of the stuff she was eating that was hurting her... "ocasionally"(more like 2-3 times a week) she would eat too much mayo on her fries, or chocolate or soda... she was admitted bc she has anemia symptoms... she wasnt getting the nutrients she needed to be healthy.. she is "fine" now... its been 2 or 3 years since she complete banned mayo from her diet... among other steps towards a health lifestyle..

The reason why I am writing this is bc even if at the end of the documentary spurlock had ended up with the same weight..thats only 1 measurement of the results... wouldnt you agree that if you change your diet to high carbohydrates and sat. fats(even if you dont eat McD).. your body fat % would increase, your cholesterol, heart, strengh, stamina & even sex life would be negatively affected?...

The mirror doesnt always show what really counts.... you could be thin and "beautiful" and have your arteries clogged with fat...

True, except it's not fat that clogs the arteries, it's LDL cholesterol. And even your total intake of cholesterol, LDL or HDL, doesn't really determine whether you'll get coronary problems.

In much of the Western world, people equate "fat" with unhealthy and slobby - frankly people who eat poorly/excessively can easily be underweight too.

OMFGBBQ~!!!!@#!@ Eat mayo 3 times week and you will go to the hospital!!! I KNOW!! It happened to my friend and shes hot!

Seriously though. Does mayo suck the nutrients out of your body? Does it have properties, previously unknown to the world, by which is acts as a veritable "black hole" of nutrition, snatching precious vitamins from your body and banishing them to the land of wind and dust?

And blablabla, no one is saying to eat lots of saturated fats. What myself (and others) have said is that eating McDonald's every day is NOT unhealthy for the average person if you follow simple common sense guidelines.

Actually, many processed foods (low-quality mayo etc.) do drain the body of nutrients. So no, it has properties KNOWN to the world. And lots of corn syrup, etc., will destabilize the environment of the digestive tract so that you can't absorb nutrients or defacate properly, etc.

If the quality of food you eat is good, then lots of it is really good. And if you're a little bit pudgy as a result, even better.

He started feeling REALLY BAD (nautia, dehydration, inability to focus, anxiety, insomnia, lethargy) after eating McD's, which completely corresponds to my personal experience every time I eat fast food. Then again I'm very sensitive to bad food.

Towards the end of the month, he started actually CRAVING the crap, and feeling depressed until he ate it. Which makes complete sense. The cardiologist guy actually thought he might die because of all the fat intake. That frankly doesn't make sense to me - he was certainly putting his life at risk, but it's primarily the sugar, salt, and dehydration that will do you in. Certainly not the quantity of fat - now the quality of fat, long term, in the fries, will cause all kinds of health problems. That much hydrogenated crap, and think of how much it's heat-cycled - I know hydrogenation is supposed to let you heat-cycle the oil, but come on. Why not just drink used motor oil? ;)

So anyway to the person who said you could do the same thing with tofu and sprouts, no. Uh-huh. Taking the same amount of fat in straight, fresh olive oil, for example, will be MUCH better for you than eating McDonald's every day, in and out. Your body can handle olive oil, and it has lots of enzymes which help you to actually digest properly.

Check out all the Wendy's and McDonald's ads at the bottom of the thread ?!? LOL

Maybe you should read the thread before spouting the same, tired nonsense?

His symptoms were indicative of gorging and force feeding. It could be accomplished with just about ANY food. Farmers do the same thing to geese with GRAIN (no fat at all).

It was not McDonald's that made him sick, it was eating 3-5 times his normal calorie intake, eating past the point of being full, and eating to the point of feeling physically ill on a 3 times daily basis.

What he did was the same as jumping in a car, driving it into a brick wall at full speed then making the claim that no one should drive because it's dangerous.

The fact that he ate only McDonalds and it almost killed him proves the stuff is poison. Poison in small doses kills you slowly, he took a large dose. To say that since he ate ONLY McDonalds, it shouldn?t be taken seriously is naive; the fact that he only ate McDonalds and it almost killed him is just showing what it?s doing to YOUR body but his experiment is condensed over a shorter period of time.

Bullsh!t. Google the bad effects of force feeding and gorging. The symptoms he suffered, every last one of them, are CLASSIC signs of gorging. The fact that farmers do this everyday to geese makes this a very well known thing.

And, yet again, farmers produce the SAME symptoms in geese using grain. Is grain "poison?"

EVERYTHING is a poison if taken to excess. It's a very simple fact that he could have done this with just about ANY food, so long as he force fed himself 3-5 times his normal calorie intake like he did in the movie with McDonald's food.

It simply amazes me the how people buy this bullsh!t as gospel truth.

I probably eat at McDonalds once a month... usually I just get a couple Egg McMuffins and a cup of coffee. Pretty hard for them to mess up eggs... y'know?

OTOH I don't think I've had a McDonalds hamburger in many years. I hate biting down into one of those things and hitting a piece of bone or gristle.

BTW I saw Supersize Me and thought it was entertaining, but yes there were definitely a couple spots in it that were contrived. I still voted "yes" on the poll there because it's common sense that this is not a place you should eat at every day.

If I hated my body enough and had enough money, I'd definitely make another 'documentary' about gorging on "All-Natural Organic" foods and see where that gets me after a month.

I thought it was a pretty interesting documentry. It was, obviously, somewhat far-fetched but even he addressed that in the movie. I did find the non-McDonald's portions of the movie pretty interesting, especially the school lunch stuff. That scares me than eating at McDonald's.

Sad to say but in a way I believe most people do not think about the food they put in their bodies and even though "Supersize Me" was indeed to the extreme many people need to see that extreme to understand the seriousness of their diet.

He did not gorge himself he ate reasonable meals it was just that he only ate McDonalds. If you ate McDonalds once a day it would definitely bring down the quality of your life. 1. Fat is difficult to digest and has its negative effects on the body. 2. All the "Crap" (Preservatives) that they do to your Meat (If you call Cow HOOF Meat) and other stuff is unnatural your stomach is not made to take that type of abuse, and it will definitely have its negative effects on you.

You need to watch the movie again. He ate 3-5 times his normal calorie intake. He ate past feeling full on a consistent basis. He ate to the point of feeling ill on a nearly consistent basis.

I eat beef on a nearly daily basis. I'm in perfect health (I'm a body builder). The difference between Spurlock and me is I am not gorging myself to the point of feeling ill.

It simply amazes me that you, and so many others MISSED the very OBVIOUS fact that he was force feding himself.

HE ADMITS IT IN THE FILM.

He tells you his calorie intake before, and during his 30 days. He raises it 3-5 times what he used to take in before his little farce. He TELLS you he's eating past feeling full. He SHOWS you himself eating past the point of feeling physically ill.

And yet, you seem to have missed all that.

Amused, don't bother with ViciouS. He's exactly the kind of sucker that Spurlock was looking for.

One woman in the office saw the movie and swore off McD's, yet she smokes like a freaking chimney.

Beef is a good source of protein, good beef. The grade F beef they use in a Big Mac is $h17 and if you ate hamburgers from McDonalds often you would feel like crap. Every once and a while your body can recover, but a sort of regular regiment you will feel the negative effects.

BTW I?m a former football player and body builder who was afflicted with a motility disorder aka a gastric emptying disorder. I've been forced to become an expert on how different foods affect your stomach and your digestive process. I had to, to stay alive.

Gorging himself yes that would cause problems on its own, his liver shutting down, that?s a direct effect of poisoning his body. To say McDonalds can have any positive affect on your body is moronic, especially coming from a body builder, to say it isn?t poison; go see a nutritionist see what they tell you.

Eat McDonalds often, get fat feel like $h17. Will it kill you, probably not, but it will complicate things. It might even lead to a complication that could possibly kill you, like high cholesterol and blood clots, or severe acid reflux and throat cancer.

Last thing, I don?t reply that often because I don?t have enough time to live in ATOT forums.

LOL, the liver problems he had were a direct symptom of gorging. It's exactly what farmers do to geese to enlarge their livers to make goose liver pate (Foie Gras... look it up). They literally STUFF the geese with grain. This gorging causes their livers to enlarge and eventually, if not slaughtered, shut down.

If eating McDonald's everyday killed one's liver, we would have an epidemic of liver failure in the US. We do not.

You have NO valid evidence for the chicken little claims you make about McDonald's food beyond high cholesterol, and even that occurs in people genetically predisposed to it.

Blood clots? Acid reflux? Throat cancer? WTF? Where do you get this sh!t from?

The beef served at McDonald's is the same beef served at any fast food restaurant, and most other restaurants. There is no such thing as "grade F." Beef is beef. The only difference is the fat content. And the fat content in McDonald's beef is not significantly higher than the fat content in any normal hamburger.

It simply amazes me how people fall for this crap so easily.

Eh, did I say blood clots? I meant clogged arteries, and severe acid reflux can lead to throat cancer. It can also lead to chronic tonsillitis and sinus infections. That?s just from acid reflux, which is can be educed by ingesting foods that are difficult to digest.

And BS about quality of beef, you obviously don?t think much about what you put into your body. Ground beef is mixed with "fillers" the more "fillers" the lower quality of beef. McDonalds = Low Quality, Fuddruckers = High Quality, go to each restaurant you can taste the difference, that is if you can picture yourself spending more than 6 bucks on a meal.
