Supersize Me

Lifer

A co-worker of mine was talking about this movie and swore up and down they would never eat at Mcdonald's again...

kinda makes me laugh about the reasoning skills of some people when they can't equate that stuffing your face there 3 times a day everyday for month is not what 99.9999999% of this country does (this means eating nothing but mcdonalds for one month, not eating there 75% or 80% of the time)...

Pretty certain that if you only eat there once or twice a week and exercise somewhat, the results would be totally different (but who would watch a boring real-life movie like that???)

I watched it. Have to take crap like that with a grain of salt. The guy who made it obviously had an agenda and went to extremes to prove his point.

With that said, eating fast food every day is going to be bad for you.

I use to eat it , or other fast foor 7-10 times a week. Now I get Falafels/humus, or salads, I just can't stomach the grease/sh!tty food any longer.

after 30 days of consuming "crap" and he wasn't in the hospital... it's not all that bad for you, the average fast food eater, now is it ?

I go there once or twice a year if that. Usually if I'm going with somebody though, I don't go there just for the sake of eating there.

thw whole reason behind the documentary is becaue mcdonald's claim their food is not that bad for you. doing it straight for 30 days and only eating that is a bit excessive but it does show the realities of it.

there are many people that do eat fast food on a daily basis, it is pretty sad when there are more people in line at n-and-out or chick-fil-a than at the library on a daily basis

Eating too much of ANYTHING for 30 days straight is going to be bad for you. It doesn't matter if your calories come from Big Macs or from bean sprouts and tofu. If you triple your caloric intake and intentionally stop exercising entirely, you're going to get fat. Who on earth is dumb enough to need a documentary to understand that or gullible enough to think that overeating at McDonalds is worse than overeating anything else?

I saw it, and found it really interesting. However, I have never learned my lesson from watching that movie. I still eat McDonalds (OMG I LOVE THEIR EGG MCMUFFINS) whenever my sister wants to get a happy meal toy. Which is like, a lot.

i would much rather eat at sweet tomatoes for 30 days than mcdonald's

i saw about half of it, so i never reached the conclusion.

the only things i have there any more are the breakfast burritos and the buffalo chicken sandwich. mmmm... a food thread before lunch...

after watching it it made me take stock on how much fast food i eat in a week and a month. it was much more that i thought it would be so i cut way back on my lunch runs to taco bell and wendys. but man do i love wendys burgers...

what made this movie ridiculous was that if mcdonalds person asked if he wanted it supersized, he HAD to say yes.

he puked a few times and that grosses me out. i get queezy thinking about it.

The same people who don't realize peanut butter may contain peanuts

Both your choices in the poll are valid.

From one point of view, it is pretty certain that excess amounts of McD's or any fast food will lead to unhealthy side effects.

On the other hand, no one in their right mind would eat it 3 meals a day for 30 days straight.

But the underlying message is that constant consumption of fast food will lead, without a doubt, to an early grave 😉

I just watched this documentary 2 days ago and I'll be honest...I haven't had a craving this big for McD's ever. Watching him eat all that food made me really hungry for McD's haha.

hopefully people knew this beforehand...but part of me thinks not, because if you did know, you wouldn't be able to sue them for making your kids fat...

it didnt really effect me, i have never eaten at mcdonalds before, and it sort of re-enforced my reason for doing so.
