I like the way the nanny tells the parents that they are completely ineffective parents in that british sort of underspoken way...
eg. older kid is packing the 2 yr old into a trash can
Nanny says, "Your oldest's behavior is too aggressive and must stop."
American translation: "Your oldest is beating the sh!t out of your youngest and you don't do anything about it because you are the worst parents I have ever seen."
Slight derail, but I love how ABC basicly takes a Fox show (that Fox themselves copied from a popular british show), buys the rights to the original British show, then markets it as "The original and the best". Seems to be pretty effective at killing the show on Fox, are Trading Spouses or Nanny 911 even on anymore?
Watching that show makes me feel like I'm doing a good job as a parent.
I don't watch it much, and I already got that feedback more or less from our daughter but it's nice to see that there are much much much worse parents than me out there. Of course it's scary to think that there are much much much worse parents than those on the show out there. Like the ones they nabbed in FL w/ 5 adopted kids who were locked in closets their whole lives with them, and not fed anything, etc etc... ugh.
yes, this is true, my friend... hence the need for a "supernanny". it's not so much the badness of the kids, but the incompetence of the parents that lends to this premise. A regular nanny would suffice for struggling parents, and where I grew up, a good ole fashioned belt-whuppin would do even more wonders.
They should have a black "supa-nanny" up in there soon. that would OMGWTFBBQ funnay.
