SUPERMICRO MBD-X9SCA-F-O i3 support

Hey folks. I was building a server with a SUPERMICRO MBD-X9SCA-F-O motherboard and the xeon I got was DOA. There's a Microcenter up the road I can grab an i3/i5 from for it, but wanted to make sure it will work on this board. The website says it will, but I've had issues in the past with CPU/Memory matching issues with them in the past. I have 4x2GB DDR3 1333 ECC in there and want to make sure it will work with an i3. This server has to be done before this weekend, hence the urgency.

Here is the CPU I can go pick up. http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0359809
Here is the mobo in question. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813182255&Tpk=X9SCA-F

SuperMicro's website says it supports i3, but yeah... Does it do that with ECC or do I need non-ECC for that?

nanaki333,

I just purchased the same mobo and I'm having trouble getting it to boot. Replaced everything else and I'm down to the CPU. What were your symptoms? Did replacing the CPU fix your issue?

Thanks!
