Superman Returns: OMFG, wtf is this?

how did such a ridiculous movie get put together?

and who is brandon routh and why does he look like mr plastic?

horrible horrible movie.

It wasn't great, but it wasn't horrible. And I thought Brandon Routh was the best part of the movie. He was really good

I liked it. Story could've done more though. I mean no huge monster? though kevin spacey acted very very well.

It was one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

Why can't Hollywood understand that when a story or character is popular across several generations, it doesn't need to be fvcked with by some no-talent hack? But no, they always think THEY can do better, so instead of a movie adaptation of Homer's Iliad, we get "Troy". Instead of the X-Men as they've been loved for decades, we get "Wolverine and his backup band", with Cyclops getting two lines per film.

I'm a real big fan of "Superman: The Movie" - my sister took me to see it in the theater on my 8th birthday. I thought "Superman Returns" was total crap.

It was comparable to the better movies based on comic books.

Another movie, another dollar.

A title for kids who just don't know any better. I'm sure parents can appriciate it, if only the fact that they can let their children watch something to the same effect as they watched themselfs growing up.

Any way you look at it, the movie is going to make some positive income for whoever decided to re-hash it. I'd take a check to make a sh8tty movie anyday.

Besides Batman Begins, 90% of comic movies as of late, have been utter trash.

I'm sure there's some nerds here that think BB was utter trash too.

I thought it was pretty good. Few things did suck though:

Sorry, but its Truth, Justice AND THE AMERICAN WAY! Just fvcking say it! You arent condoning Bush if you say it! AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH~!~!!!!

I even thought Smallville was better put together then that movie. I saw the movie about a year after it came out and i was pissed.

It wasn't a remake, it was a direct sequel to the first Superman movie, with Kevin Spacey as the Gene Hackman semi-comedic version of Luthor, and Routh as Christopher Reeve.

If you accept it on those terms, it was a decent movie. It just wasn't the movie many people were expecting after Smallvillle and Batman Begins.

My biggest problem with Superman Returns is that it was YET ANOTHER "Luthor is an evil real estate developer" movie.

Granted, it was better than Superman III and IV but I was just hoping for something more.

Was it really necessary for Superman to have a little bastard love child?

It was "edgy". I guess they had to go down to that after making Jimmy Olson gay didn't work out...not that he didn't come out gay anyways...

horrible, yes the love child..good lord bad idea.
the new island of land was lame, it didn't look impressive at all, lame as the miscast lex luthor

That movie was so absolutely, ridiculously, bottomlessly absurd that I'm surprised I haven't killed both myself and the man to my left after having watched that travesty. *shudders*

It's right on par with Violent Sh!t 3: The Infantry of Doom.

Spiderman and Xmen have been awesome.

Yeah, not much action. There are a few good scenes, but it's fairly lame. I don't remember, but I don't think Superman ever throws a punch, does he?

When the movie was first released, another ATOT user said it best, "It's about Superman lifting progressively heavier things." Pretty much sums it up.
