I have been chasing this deal for the past 2 days, I looked at stores around Scranton PA, were I live, some places in Rockville, Maryland and even around springfield VA (I got family to go to the CC around them). All were out, , there was one open-box for a total of $760(but bc is open box there are no rebates), and one store had the notebook for $849, but they claimed there were no rebates...

I sort of gave up... I really wanted to get one... Any updates on this deal??... cause I would still buy it

great post, really nice deal anyway...

I also missed the brass ring. There was one in the Denver area - open box (display model, as it turns out).
When I went to CC, the unit carried a price of over a $G. And that was after the mark-down. No offer of any rebate(s). After I showed him the A/T links, the department guy said that it was obviously a different market.

I got in. THANKS to the OP!!! I've lurked in here for a while, but this
was my first big score from the Hot Deals forum. Within 45 minutes of
the original post I got the last one anywhere near East SF Bay Area,
in Concord. New sealed, and the rebates printed $850-200-100.

sounds like they have a different sale going on in your area; if it was a 300$ rebate the extra 100 should have printed off with the reciept. Gald to see you found an extra 50$ though. Keep a copy of your UPC code though, just in case i find a rebate coupon. You have 90 days from date of purchase to send in the rebates.. so, i have time to hunt anything down you've missed.

i too have been a lurker for a while now, but i didnt get to this deal early enough so i havent scored yet.

i found a local CC that has it in stock, but when looking for the rebates online, i only found these:

$50 HP Rebate
$200 CC Rebate

the first is good; the second rebate states that the item must have been purchased between 11/27/05 and 12/02/05.

is this deal dead? where is the last $50?

If you have no intention of keeping it, why did you buy?

to make a profit by selling it.

Sigh...

wtf is your problem?

I just get tired of people exploiting hot deals to shove the items right off to eBay, thus reducing the number of units people have the potential to be able to buy at the "hot" price, thus negating the entire of point of a "hot deal". Perhaps this instance wasn't all bad, but I'm tired of people finding something on clearance and then bragging about how they bought 100 of the same items just to sell on eBay.

Could not find this anywhere in the greater inland area of So Cal. They knew they had them at one time but not now. Would have been a great deal though!
