They are phasing this model out, so ccity is trying to get rid of them; i work at ccity and thought i'd let people know about this deal. You won't see it on their website, but if you go to your local store and ask an associate to look up this model (hpdv4150us) for you they might still have some in stock. I just bought one today; the store I work at ran out but I looked up the inventory at another store and they had 4, I drove there soon after work and snatched one up. i'll probably sell it on ebay soon, but this is one hell of a deal to pass up either way.

$300 is just too much for me to have sitting out there in rebates. Hot deal for someone who doesn't care about rebates though.

Your sale tag link has exceeded it's bandwidth for today

DV4000 with x700 video card might be a better choice, wish they allow me to DIY it like OD does.

Two seperate rebates; one for $200 and another for $100.

It's a no-go in the STL area

Did you go to the store to find out or did you ask over the phone? because most likely when they check it will come up as "check details" with a blue question mark, in which case they have to highlight it and hit enter, then they can bear down further and see exactly how much net sealable they have in stock; just saying this because right now there are probably tons of new hires at ccitys nationwide who dont know much about the pos system. Anyway, good luck.

Found 1.

They wanted 999. They said it was open box.

I asked if they would match the price. They said they could not because it had come back and they had to get back the cost of restoring the software and adding virus protection.

I powered it up.

It had no virus protectection. They had home on it rather then pro. It was dirty and scratched and the manager finally said 700.
I said no thanks.

To sum it up.

Take a computer on sale for 849. + lies about updating = 999

Catch the lies minus office pro plus dirt and dents = 700 -

NO GO

C'mon man, give the guy a break. He works at circuit city. Hell, if I worked there I'd be doing exactly the same thing to make the ends meet.

Thanks for posting this OP. Great deal!

Exactly what I was thinking. He posted the deatl! What more can you ask? I'm going for the Compaq V2000 deal though due to size. But this is tempting. What is really tempting, if the local CC has one, would be to get this and swap the Celeron M from the and the Pentium M. Then sell this one w/ the Celeron M. Might hose the warranty though for whomever buys it :(.

Here in MS, I found the CC store had several of these. However, no rebate forms printed out after purchase. The clerks looked online and didn't find the rebates (of course, I was kicking myself that I hadn't looked more carefully before taking the 1-hr drive to the store).

I cancelled the sale and went home. Found the $200 rebate in CC.com rebate section, but I can't find any $100 rebates for this computer. I'm really not sure what to do now; money IS an issue.

Can you direct me to where I might find the $100 rebate?

Thanks,

jaynine

What in the world are you sighing about? The guy found the deal. Now he has to buy the item. Deal with the rebates (including the $300 plus tax he will be financing until the rebate checks arrive). And take the risk they won't arrive.
Then he has to get involved with selling it on ebay and doing all that. What he is doing is called putting in his TIME (=work) and taking on RISK. For this he will make a few bucks (with no guarantee).

Why don't you sigh the entire world economy. Or at least the part that actually works.
PS, not only that HE POSTED THE DEAL so anyone so inclined can do the legwork themselves and try to get the same deal.

Sigh...

If you don't mind, what does "no go" mean? That they don't have these in stock, or that there are no rebates for them?
