Supergluing a papercut closed a bad idea?

If I only put the glue on the outside of the cut, not the inside. It hurts like a bitch and I don't like band aids. Plus it's on the tip of my finger. Thoughts?

i think it is fine. i thought super glue was originally developed to close wounds on the battlefield for the armed forces.

Just got a cut from opening cardboard boxes. Tried band-aids and that didn't work. Superglue was my next idea and its worked great so far.

I'm still alive anyway ;)

Brother in law is a surgeon's assistant and said superglue is very similar to what they use when performing surgery.

Yes, superglue is similiar to Dermabond, but it's not the same. Superglue has some nasty chemicals in it that Dermabond doesn't have. Using superglue on your bare skin could cause a chemical burn depending on how sensitive you are. I'd stick with Neosporin and Band-aids.

Dermabond?

yeah that could be the stuff. Superglue was orginally intended to close wounds on the battlefield.

The stuff they have now is just a slight change on the formula.

I'm freaking amazed at the surgeries that come out of the OR with the surgical wounds glued.

When I started as a nurse, the patients having their gallbladders taken out were in the hospital for days, and hurt like a SOB, had scars & drains, now they come out with 4 or 5 small superglued holes in their abdomen & we send them home.

Probably not a bad idea, but completely unneccessary... it's a paper cut.

The only options are a bandage or superglue, and he hates bandages.

Mt bikers sometimes carry superglue for cuts.

duct/duck tape works good. My Brother-in-law sliced OFF a piece of his thumbs, just the fleshy part, and he held it back in place with duct/k tape and the slice of skin (about the size of a dime) reattacted itself...

So I guess you could use that to "sew" shut your paper cut...

and I guess super glue would work for your papercut.

Makes sense.

I was going to say that this sounds liek it is yet another use for duct tape.
