Turbos will also raise underhood temps quite a bit comparied to a supercharger.
Of course, it all depends on how well you insulate the turbine housing (and exhaust manifold(s)/header(s) if you want better emission control/power).

Are you talking about heat-wrap? I've heard bad news about using that stuff anywhere near a manifold/header on a turbo setup...

many heavy duty vehicles use superchargers. trucks/bigrigs/military transport etc it seems. no lag is a requirement for haulin i bet. turbos seem to be better for plain speed, esp on smaller motors from what littl ei know.
