the 2005 Playoffs have to go down as one of the worst officiated playoffs in history. But still, the Seahawks stunk up the joint.

The Seahawk that was arguing with the ref should've smacked him down.

As stoked as I am the Steelers just won the superbowl! Seahawks got robbed on some very big calls. Of course refs did evrything they could to F Pitt in the Colts game, bus pooched that goalline fumble, and yet they stilled pulled it out. I guess what I am saying is that yes Hawks got screwed over, but they still had opportunities to win despite it, but didn't.

Hats off to Seahawks for playing so great! and Super Steelers!!!1

Yeah, that's what the NFL and the officials thought as they decided the game. Give it to the most popular team and who will notice the game sucked? Seattle who?

At this point the NFL ranks right up there with WWF wrestling as far as legitimacy goes. The last few years the Super Bowl has been great and I'm left salivating for the next season to get here. At this point I really couldn't care less. The games have not been decided by the players this postseason. The playoffs were meaningless. This Super Bowl is meaningless. Congratulations officials. You decided a good game.

<---*Denver fan who doesn't care who wins. Just someone who hoped to see a good fair game*

I don't think I'd go that far. There has definitely been some bad officiating (most notably against Pittsburgh in the Colts-Steelers game, actually), but none of the games I've seen has been decided by the officials, including tonight's. The bottom line is that Seattle came into this game flatfooted. They made awful play calls and failed to execute.

Uh, which team started flatfooted? Which team took 19 minutes to get their first first-down?

Seattle had 2 missed field goals (although long), dropped a few key passes, and had terrible play calling at the end of each half. Pittsburgh played mediocre the entire game. I really don't think they deserved to win. While I won't go so far to say that the refereeing was fixed, I will say that had all of the borderline calls not gone the Steelers' way (Seattle's first TD called back, holding on the throw to the 1, Pittsburgh's first TD, etc) the outcome of the game would have been different.

pretty bad officiating ya I agree. But still, seahawks had many opportunities, and didn't pull through.

I like defensive games, back/forth games like this game. It was enjoyable to watch.

and LOL @ the MVP to refs for pitts lol.

Denver fan if the officials called it right the Pats would have beaten you.
OK maybe not, but it would have been closer.
I can't forgive 5 turnovers, but there was at least 2 scores lost because of bad calls
in the Denver Pats game

this is the LEAST dominant Super Bowl MVP EVER.

sheesh. Hines Ward is a nice player and he had a nice game but his performance just doesn't come anywhere close to the MVP's of the past.

wow, worst super bowl ever.

but this is clearly the worst of the 5 Pittsburgh Super Bowl wins. at least in the other 4 the steelers did a lot to take the game in their own hands.

shoot, this one between officiating and Seahawks shooting themselves in the foot, the win was HANDED to the steelers.

and as i said in the other post, the least impressive superbowl MVP evar.

Even being from Pittsburgh, I gotta say yeah, it wasn't that great of a game. Just not that interesting.

he deserved the MVP. that 59yrd catch and then the flea-flicker in the end really did em well. he single handedly scored 14 of steeler points (more or less)

Not to take anything away from a great football town like Pittsburgh, but there were 3 major calls that should not have been called against Seattle. Overall Seattle outplayed the Steelers, but again due to the ref's the game is decided by calls. When will someone have the gonads to stand up for the right call.....
