Super stessing video system.

I have been having problems with an older computer that I built. After many trials and errors i am pretty sure that there was some sort of conflict between the Via KT133 chipset on the mobo and the GeForce 2 GTS video cards that I tried. I put in a ATI radion 9200 to see if it would still crash and it seems to be stable now. I have been running 3dMark2001 for the last several hours with no problem. I am currently running 3dmark with prime 95 at the same time to try and stress the entire system as much as possible.

Is there anything out there that will stress the video system more than 3dmark2001. I just want to make sure it is stable with the ATI video card.

Real games would probably be your best bet.

Aquamark I hear is a pretty stressful test.

Also, you can try recording your own Doom 3 demo and playing it back in a continuous loop, or any other game of your choice. Not sure how to record demos in any specific game though, you'll have to ask around.

Play doom 3 for a good 6 hours. Or just run the timedemo. If you dont have doom 3, then try and play any other demanding games that you have. Playing a game, and multiple games, are the best indicators of any graphic stability test.

stable is a relative term. Any computer will crash with sufficient stress. If your computer doesn't crash or artifact with the things you do with it, then it is stable for all intents and purposes. I never understood the prime95 thing. Why would anyone want to run their cpu at such load for so long at the risk of permanently damaging it?

Doom 3 will 'literally' kill any misconfigured or overclocked card...

Just play doom3. I looped 3dmark03 for 10 hrs on my overclocked radeon 9800np and no atrifacts. Then I ran a doom3 demo a couple of times and saw none. I thought I had a stable overclock. Then I went and played the game and in 5 mins I saw snow on the screen.

Halo and UT2004 are good multiplayer games to try as well.

Doom 3 will see what your card is made of, and if it's oc'd too much, it'll let you know
