I guarantee that a decent kirby would rape ness

if you ever have to use your Pk thunder to get back, you lose

I've always thought of samus as a low teir character. She has horrible smashes (her forward being the best)

kirby owned in the n64. he's super cheap:

1) when the guy is flying back, you use your up+b sword attack to send him down.
2) slide kicks, you can put so many of them together, and they can't do anything
3) you can fly a long time
4) when the guy is thrown off by someone else, you can steal the kill by flying above them, and hit down+r repeatedly to drill them to the bottom and then fly back up
5) suck them up and take their power, falcon punch kirby is the best
6) kirby's comet punches, tapping a repeatedly, stuns the opponent over and over again if they are backed into a wall

when i was my prime, no one could beat me with kirby except if they were an equally good player at kirby.

A guy at college played as Samus all the time. He always fired those homing missiles and basically was an edge-whore the entire game. So everyone that has played with him associates Samus with cheapness.

Samus doesn't excel until there's atleast 3 characters fighting. 1 on 1 she simply does not have good enough moves to compete with the quality characters

I use white Marth. C-stick Marth can be pretty cheap too...he's a pretty easy character to use for beginners. Not that I'm a beginner or anything...

If you master samus, 1 on 1 is easy as pie. I love Samus, my number 1 in Smash. I play 3 people vs me all the time and always win. Of course they are no masters, but still, samus is fantastic if you master her moves.

Yes, Smash brothers on N64 is absolutely THE best game I have ever played. Too bad it's not that easy sometimes to get 4 people together to play.

A lot of people like Samus and do well with her, but bring Fox in and Samus is owned. Personally I like to use Ness, with Star Fox as a second option. Love the sound of that bat. Too bad it doesn't have the effect of a real bat.

I almost always play as Yoshi, for both games :)
1) I use down + B a lot to slam down on the enemy.
2) I find Yoshi's double/jump can make him go really long distances (not as far as Kirby, but he's much faster travelling through the air).
3) Yoshi also has that insane attack where he smashes his head around like a hammer.
4) It's fun to eat/spit the enemy back out, to watch it fly off the board.
5) If you eat an enemy and make it into an egg while you're near the edge of the map, you can sometimes get the enemy to fall off the map, all the while helplessly stuck in the egg.
