Saw THIS linked on another website.

Basically, its a flaw in IE that tricks the browser into downloading a file that IE doesn't think it is... IE: You could be trying to open a .pdf but in actuallity it's an executable that gets downloaded and opened.

This flaw was supposedly dates Dec 9/19, but I haven't heard anything about it until now. Is it anything to be concerned about?

Maybe I'm just one of the last ones to move to a different browser than ie....

I'm sure it's something to be concerned about. I know of a bunch of exploits like this one that if you go to a certain page, it doesn't even look like you're dling anything but in actuality you are. Does this exploit have anything to do with Active X scripting?

firebird .7 only has half a fix for it. The address bar (at the top) will have the correct link, but the status bar (at the bottom) will have the wrong link. This is completely fixed in mozilla 1.6 final (but not beta). It's also fixed in the 1/06 and later nightly version of firebird. Firebird 0.8 should be out soon, which will have the complete fix, also.

They are being exposed constantly. However, they are fixed in a manner of days or weeks instead of months (if ever) like IE.
