For a high performance noiseless system, I recommend an Antec 1030 case with two 12dbA Papst 8412NGL's on the intake, two 12dB Papst 8412NGL's on the exhaust, one 12dB Papst 8412NGL in an Antec power supply, and one 19dB Papst 8412NGML on a ALPHA PAL8045 (for Athlon up to 1.6GHz) or PAL8492 (for P4 @ 2400MHz) processor heatsink.
For the hard drive, use a Seagate Barracuda IV. For the graphics card, either use something that ships with a passive heatsink (i.e. Asus Geforce4 MX440), or buy another board like the ATI Radeon 8500 and replace the active cooling with a passive heatsink.
Be sure to use rubber grommets on all fans, as well as the hard drive. If the fans snap in as on some cases, you can add some silicon to the front corners of the fan (on appropriate side) prior to installation to reduce/eliminate vibration.
