While awaiting my new computer parts, which are coming tomorrow, I decided to benchmark my current PC with a bunch of different programs/games so I can see how much faster my new computer really is.

I'm running an Athlon 2800+ at 1600mhz and scored a 57m 44s on Super PI 32M. I'm curious as to what you guys are getting and how much faster do you think my new Athlon64 3200+ will be? I'll likely OC it 200mhz or so.

Thanks.

Probably 35 sec with 1M digits. Was able to overclock an NF3/Sempron 3100 to 2400MHz. The Super Pi time is 37.7 sec. Not bad for a $90 combo.

Super Pi crashes on my laptop when I try the 32M run. Any ideas?

Centrino 1.73GHz PM
512 DDR
Windows XP SP1

Is there a known problem or a patch available?

Thanks.

45s for 1M.

Prescott 3GHz with HT enabled, 865PE, Single Channel DDR400.

EDIT: 43s for 1M with Dual channel DDR400

If SP crashes, then you don't have a stable system. Could also be a RAM issue. Try Memtest to check for RAM problem. Notebooks aren't made for high stability.

If you're undervolting, then that might be a sign that your voltage is too low for the 13x multiplier.

47 secs for 1M on a 2500+xp oc'ed to 2200mhz but gotta ask how much does ram play into super pi score cuz i have 1.5gigs of it and when u run the test it says allocating a huge amt of it so does that mean if u have like 512 your score will be much lower?

Super Pi is not a RAM hog. Reboot the PC and retest SP. 47 sec is about right with that speed.

I would expect to see 26 sec @ 3GHz (best case). 146 and 3700 are basically the same CPU.

It takes about 120MHz to knock-off one second in Super Pi for a Sempron CPU. A64 and Opteron will only require about 90 to 100MHz.

My Sempron Paris is designed for 1.5Vcore. I can bump the voltage up to 1.6V to achieve 2.51GHz core speed. The 1M SP time is 36.8 sec. That's a 0.9 sec improvement over 37.7 sec at 2.4GHz.

dude im trying to say, i believe ironic's fx-60 will do a super pi sub 30 sec. A fx-57 moderately oc'd will most likely do it sub 30sec. i dont see how a 146 will do a superpi in 26 sec, unless he's oc'd to like 3.2-3.4ghz. If thats the case, i just want to see his settings because a superpi time of 26 sec is seriously insane. >.<

If it is real, im assuming he is clocked at 3.2-3.4 on phase cooling, or it was a one shot LN thing just for bragging rights. Either way, im curious to see a superpi number that low.

Yes I'm running phase change, that superpi time was within 20 minutes of installing the cpu without tweaks.

Sad to say but the chip is no longer with us.:(

3.4GHz @ 1.65Vcore is good for a few months at best. Let's post some stable numbers for long-term use. It is very rare for an Opti 144 to run stable at 3GHz with air, especially with 1.55 max Vcore.
