Super-Pi Question

When I run two instances of Super-Pi (one for each core), and I get an error on one of them - how do I know if this means my memory is overclocked or if I don't have enough Vcore etc.? Is it just trial and error to see what fixes the error, or does Super-Pi mainly test the memory - meaning I need to increase the divder?

how fast does the error occur?

if it's instantaneous it's cuz you're not running from 2 folders.

if it takes a lil bit of time then it could be either be a mem error or cpu error.

it all depends on what you are trying to test.

if it errors adn it's not a folder error then yes, you should up the vcore (assuming you're testing cpu)

edit:

are you testing just for mem? (low mult high htt)

thx for the reply.

It's pretty instantaneous - about 1-2 secs or so after starting. I'll try running it from two folders to see if that works - doh! - should have done that to start with!

I'm using it to test overall stability after o/c'ing - so not the isolation phase, but the combined phase.

I had the same problem until I put the second instance of Super Pi in it's own folder. You'll get better results when you do that, I'm sure of it. ;)

yeah - I do the same with Prime95 - shoulda done it with this too. It's a relief actually - was devastated my rather modest o/c came up with errors on Super Pi and not on Prime 95. Look forward to getting home today and re-testing :)

well - put super-pi into two folders, and presto - no probs whatsoever! Glad my first attempt at o/c'ing wasn't a failure after all!
