But Super Paper Mario is different. The text is short, simple, and just flat out fun. One of the best levels with the best dialog was 3-4, when you have to rescue a pixl from this geek frog guy. They make some hilarious comments. One of my favorite was "Do you go on message boards and talk trash about games you haven't even played?"

Chapter 3 is my favorite out of the first 4 not only because I like the old-school graphical style, but because the lizard reminded me of Anandtech members. 😀

lol same. it was like a direct hit at ATOT.

i actually wasn't very fond of the graphics personally.

When are they going to make another real Mario game? The last one was, what, 1996?
Super Mario Sunshine was 2002?
That game doesn't count. It's probably better if we pretend that it never happened.

Sunshine was a great game...not the revolution everyone was hoping for, but it was a zillion times more playable than mario 64, which really has not aged all too well.

There's another 100 trials after the first one (that one is harrrrrddddd). The game gets "harder" later if you're not using some type of game guide, etc. I think this is a really cool innovative mario game. I really like it.

What's wrong with Mario 64?

The camera and the control mainly. Playing it on VC made me want to smash my controller into my screen its so frustrating, and I RARELY get agitated playing games.

lol, I don't have any hand eye coordination and I am at the end of chapter 3 without trying too hard. This is easier than the Original Super Mario Brothers! Not that I am complaining 🙂

I only played it for a few minutes at a friends house, but it was decently entertaining.
What exactly are people expecting from a franchise Mario game? Most, if not all, have been light hearted fun with some potential challenges that you need to repeat a few times before you master them.

Just the other day I dug out the SNES and started playing Super Mario World. That game is still near perfection in my opinion.
Sure I remember just about all the secrets and whatnot, but it's still fun to play.

The game gets a bit more difficult at level 7. These levels are looooong now, it takes me almost as long to get through one chapter as it used to take to get through one whole world.

I was very excited to get a Wii and made a big deal about it when I finally got it two months ago but to be honest I haven't turned it on in two months. If I did the most I would do on it would be to force myself to play some of the older games on the Virtual Console. I really like Xbox live arcade.

Then do what most practical people I know have already done. Get rid of it. What's the point in having it if its sitting around, and as long as you do it SOON - you won't take a hit on it, and depending on your area you might make a profit.

The Wii is a novelty, everyone I know who got one ended up with buyers remorse.

yes because your 10 or so friends make up the majority of the 4million+ that have been sold!

EDIT: i do not know actualy #'s that was strictly a guestimate.

Funny, everyone I know has loved it and found it very worth it. But yes, obviously if you have one collecting dust, now is the time to get rid of it. There's no sense coming on here continually saying it hasn't met your needs/standards, just sell it already.

I think it stands up well to time. It's still in my top 5 favorite. I dust off my N64 every now and then to play SM64 and OoT. Great games.

Beat the game today, not terribly hard but fun. During the last levels the story finally begins to make sense, kinda sad actually.

Is it worthwhile to spend time on the games in the arcade? The amount of time they take vs the payout is pretty dismal, it'd take forever to get the good prizes (like +5 HP). Is there a way to get points faster?

The game is easy enough that you dont need any of those power ups. Maybe for the flopside pits, but the basic game is fairly simple.

Good point 😛

sorry to resurrect an old thread, but i have a question.

i'm running through a side quest and was visiting the first world again. after i go through a chapter and defeat it, how do i exit back to flipside without having to beat the ENTIRE world again? it's getting annoying to do that.

Use your tunnel in your inventory.

I think you mean the return pipe.
