Daviet: Dude get the Super Orb, I have it and its a great HSF. Don't listen to what jsbush says cause if you check out the article Anandtech wrote the Alpha PAL6035 (with YS Tech fan) and the Super Orb both performed equally. And since the alpha is like $30+ I definately would wonder why anyone would consider it over the Super Orb. The Super Orb looks better, performs equally to the Alpha, and costs less.

Evilmage: I have the Super Orb and it fits on my MSI K7T Pro2-A. The only board that is know for it to not fit on is the Abit KT7. And if there is another board out there that it does not fit on I would like to know.

Dynamix3d,

You clearly do not know about why socket A temp readings are off, and why temp comparisons with socket A mb's should not be done.

SO here's a link to read up on it. It is the most comprhehensive one.

Anandtech Heatsink Guide review

AT 1.5GHZ, a super orb(roughly .50C/W), would run the AMD core at roughly 40C over ambient, which would mean a CPU CORE TEMP OF at least 60C, probably more like 70C for the average case.

But would the socket thermistor really show this temp? Probably not, it would likely show a 50C temp reading, due to problems with how it measures temperature.

Dont' believe every review you read.

Mike: I have read more than 1 review that says the Super Orb performs identical to the Alpha PAl6035.

And you know what, because they all rely on hte in-socket thermistor, they are all wrong.

YOu can believe what you want. If you don't want to read the thread I posted above, fine. Don't go around announcing the SuperORB as the alpha-equal, because it is not. It is just measured that way.
