Don't fault Nintendo for wanting money, but the game just doesn't do anything for me. The fact that you have to have an always-on internet connection is beyond stupid. May work on a phone, but renders playing on a tablet impossible if you aren't within wifi range.

i heard you can stop and move mario backward and forward ?

Yes and no. The stops are when you hit pause blocks -- basically, Nintendo gives you a chance to think about your next move. Backwards isn't usually possible, but there are some jumps and similar tricks where you'll temporarily run backward. Handy for grabbing those coins you just missed.

You can also "bubble" which will take you back as far as you want (just tap the screen again to pop), providing you have enough time to finish the level.

First few levels are free.

I thought it was fine too, but they aren't really 'a few' levels, more like three tutorial levels.

I'd probably buy it on Android because I have Play Store credit from surveys burning a hole in my play store wallet. But $10 out of pocket, umm yeah, no.

I read that if you run into a goomba you just jump over them... WTF?

That + needing internet = HARD pass

You can still 'die' from Goombas and other enemies, it's just that in a controlled situation you hop over them. The key to the game isn't surviving, it's getting coins -- the trick with enemies is to time jumps right as Mario is hopping over a character, as you get a coin bonus and extra altitude at the same time. It's almost like parkour.

Eh. As time passes, I care less about this game.

Had it just cost something up front instead of using IAP, I'd actually have less of an issue now that Google has implemented family sharing.
