You can also "bubble" which will take you back as far as you want (just tap the screen again to pop), providing you have enough time to finish the level.Yes and no. The stops are when you hit pause blocks -- basically, Nintendo gives you a chance to think about your next move. Backwards isn't usually possible, but there are some jumps and similar tricks where you'll temporarily run backward. Handy for grabbing those coins you just missed.
