Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Metroid: Other M coming 5/23 and 6/27

Interesting news has come from the land down under as Nintendo of Australia has announced that both Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Metroid: Other M are coming some time between June and August this year.

Both games were originally announced at E3 2009 but the release dates were not expected this soon and were assumed to be holiday titles. This now leaves a hole for holiday releases that Nintendo will have to fill. A new Legend of Zelda for the Wii is strongly suspected to be one of those titles.

More news from Nintendo is expected today as part of their Nintendo Summit in San Francisco.

after playing some NSMB on Wii, and watching people play TvC and liking it, and now Galaxy 2 coming out... i am ALMOST tempted to get another wii.

ALMOST!!!!!!!!

but then i'm sure that TvC online on the wii is a joke.
 
I bet Super Mario Galaxy will still remain at $50 even well after Super Mario Galaxy 2 is released.

Both of these games I am somewhat interested in, but we shall see...
 
I remain skeptical of Metroid with Team Ninja doing alot of the work. Hopefully the awesomeness that is Nintendo will keep TN from tainting the game.
 
MOM (Metroid Other M) is coming June 27th.

I'm very interested in this game but it's hard to get too worked up until we see more of what the gameplay is like. The apparent return to third-person has me excited--Super Metroid is one of my favorite games.
 
I had stopped thinking about these games because they felt so infinitely far off, but now I really can't wait. Especially for SMG2. Other M I worry could be a bust or just a mediocre game, I hope they do it right.

I agree. I've heard that the game will switch between 1st and 3rd person. That sounds goofy, but we really haven't seen much of the game to know for sure at this point.
 
Summer will be very good to some kids out of school.

I think MOM will be rock solid. What they did with the mario side scroller that switched between 2d and 3d was excellent. I thought it going to be a bust until I played it.
Galaxy should be amazing the first one was the best game for the wii and I am a huge zelda fan.
