Price looks good after $20 off for this refur item.

But I doubt that they would honor rebate for refur product.

Keep in mind that almost all overstock.com items come in plain brown boxes. No UPC = NO MIR

I was looking for a decent cordless phone the other week since the battery completely died on my other cordless and the cost for a new battery was the cost of a new phone almost. Anyhow I beleive the $40 rebate for the panasonic 2.4g gigarange phones only apply to the 2560B and 2560S. The 2570 is listed as having a $30 rebate. Also from what I understand and was mention by Nallur is that the refurbished return items come without the original box so there is no way to apply for the rebate.

One last note... I went to 3 circuit cities, 2 bestbuys, 1 target, 2 walmarts, 1 kmart, and 1 radio shack and out of all them the cheapest was Walmart for thier prices on cordless phones. Also in ALL of them they had more then one returned panasonic 2.4g gigarange phone and very few returned phones from any other brand/model. I inquired at one circuit city and the people in the department told me the phone was crap (they had 6 returns on the shelf and had marked them down twice to under 50 bucks and still no one would buy it or they would return it a week later). I personally would stay away from this phone and deal unless you want to end up with a headache.

I have this phone and it is a piece of junk. My old 900mhz was many times better.

First of all, this thing doesn't have a redial button. You have to press something like 3 keys to redial. The quick dial features are useless. But most importantly, there is unbelievable static on default channel on this thing and you can't change the default channel. Everytime I pick it up I immediately have to change the channel.

You're better off getting something other than this.

I have the refurb'ed 2550. It sucks. Too much unpredictable static. I would get something else if you can.

The phone is not wall mountable, I bought a refurb 2570S a month ago for $79 and I love it. Range is not so good though, almost the same as my old 900 MHz DSS phone but sound quality is really good, so is battery life. It came in with a different box than the new ones, but with a UPC code, I sent in the rebate but don't know if they will honer it.

You can't get a rebate on a refurb.

Best deal, call Staples and order the KXTG2560S (no Answering Machine)
Staples.com Item 436473 for $179.95
PM to Etronics for 149.00
Use the $30.00 off $100.00 coupon
Use the free attache case coupon
Send in the $40.00 MIR

Get it for $179.95 - $30.95 PM - $30.00 COUPON - $40.00 MIR = $79.00
+ Free Attache Case (add shipping and tax)

Sounds like a better deal than getting a refurb for the same price . . . actually the refurb will not have the MIR so it will be more than this phone. Check about getting the rebate before buying this deal.

Just some information about 2.4Ghz phones that might explain why some people had problems with this phone. 2.4Ghz phones are different from older
cordless phones (900Mhz,49Mhz, etc)in that the frequencies are not licensed by the FCC. When
frequencies are licensed, they're essentially dedicated to the licensee and
aren't available for anyone else to use. This means less interference in
most cases. With the 2.4Ghz band, which has many unlicensed devices all struggling to use the same frequencies, a scheme called Spread Sprectum is used in many phones like the Panasonic. The phone basically cycles through many
frequencies very quickly within the 2.4Ghz band which should lessen the
affect of interference from any device that is transmitting on a fixed
2.4Ghz frequency. The problem is that a lot of new devices (other 2.4Ghz
phones, wireless audio/visual equipment, radio controlled cars/planes,
wireless networks, etc) are all using Spread
Spectrum which sort of defeats the purpose in the first place. In other
words, they're creating interference all over the entire 2.4Ghz band, rather
than on just one fixed frequency. Make sense?
