Screw Staples! So sick of their pricematch bull. They told me they would only honor the $199 price. I called Officemax.com and they said they would pricematch the $149 price in the OM B&M circular. Then went on the site ordered it with the $25 first time buyer discount (see flamingoworld.com for the link) and used Dash for even more off. Here's the damage:

$199 - $50 (pricematch to circular) - $25 (1st time discount) - $50 (mfr) - $8 (Dash) = $66 + tax!

Acer sucks, Hp Sucks, Plextor is the best...at least for burning things with safedisc protection it is.... =)

$25 off $100 at officemax is over :-(

Pricematch at Staples + coupon? Success!! Total 126.94 shipped (had to throw in some $0.79 pens to get over $150). After rebate $76.94

I placed an order on the phone with Staples PM and $30 off 15 mins ago. Five mins later, they called me back and told me they can't PM to $149.

This deal at Staples just worked for me this morning. Had to fax them a copy of the OfficeMax insert from Sundays paper. But all went smooth.

$149.99 - $30 coupon - $50 MIR = 69.99 + 16.50tax = $86.49 w/free shipping.

Edit: Sorry tax was from the original online order before the PM. It should be 9.90 tax = $79.89

Cool, I just called OfficeMax -- The CSR had the price in the system at $149 and let me use the 25 off 100 (not 20) discount (LINK) for new custoners and place the order for me. Total cost including tax delivered TOMARROW (staples takes 7 dyas to me) is $132.36. Less $50 rebate = 82.36. -- I guess I needed one ........ Oh well, I have one now.

I just did this Monday night by phone. PM at 149 with 30 off 100 coupon. Took around 15 minutes, lots of hold time, but they came through at 127.16 w/tax. Shipping would take a week, so I checked a Staples store locally and they had one in stock. Showed the ad, asked if I could use coupon code 91202 (they said sure, didn't have to show anything) and walked out with one for the 127.16. Less the $50 rebate and I'm at $77.16. I cancelled the phone order.

It's getting frustrating. I tried very hard to make staples pricematch with officemax, but NO GO. I called 5 diff. repres., 3 faxes, but it seems they already know about the deal. (the last guy simply refused to do.)

Called 1-877-officemax and they did pricematch with the B&M without asking much, but what the heck... 30min later got a phone call that my CD-RW is BACK-ORDERED! (ETA 7-10 days, which could make HP rebate invalid) If you ordered by phone, you'd better check the status. Just cancelled.

I already bought 2 of these machine from local OM yesterday, (one for me, one for my fiancee, they have 2 more in stock) but still can't decide whether return it or not.

Any other opinions? $100+tax is not a bad deal (I'm still using x2 CD-R :) but I wanna more discount! (getting greedy, I guess)

I just ordered one from Officemax.com for $150.99 (added 0.99 cent ruler) and got -$30. My total with tax is $130.05. I asked the CSR if the date on the invoice would print the ship date or the date I placed the order. He said that it would be the date I placed the order. Therefore, I should still be able to qualify for the rebate even if I don't get the CDR until after Feb 3. Wish me luck.

I decieded not to bother with the PM @ Staples, I just used the 30 of of 150 Office Max coupon. I was talking with the rep and when she noticed that there was a $50 rebate, even she was impress with the deal. Hot!

I bought one at Staples last night. The manager allowed me to PM OM for $150 as well as combine two Staples coupons ($10 off 40 AND $25 off 100) for out the door of $114.99 plus tax. Add a $50 MIR and I'm stoked to have it for $65.

It works well even without burn-proof and a big upgrade over my Acer 2x.

Is it true these burners will read the sub channel data to work with Clone CD?

Spent the day!!! But finally got the $149.99 - $30 +$4.99 for packing tape for a total of $124.98. OM backordered the CDRW and will get in 3/4 days. Called HP about rebate and the Email confirmation will suffice for the invoice or sales slip when mailing in the rebate form. Thanks to all and to all its time for a nap. Oh yes, forgot to subtract the $50.00 rebate = $74.98 paid $99.00 for my HP7570i a year ago.

What a foulup, received my complete order today (next day) from B&M in Roseburg, Oregon. No $30 off for $150. Called online and they said it has not been shipped!! They ended up cancelling the warehouse order and the store manager ended up giving me a $30. Gift certificate to make the $124.98 order price. He also is sending me a register receipt for 2 Feb 01 for my rebate. Alls well that ends well

I talked to someone at 1800-staples

1800-3staples had much stricter rules!

The lady I talked to was really nice, and She didn't even ask for confirmation of the 149.99 price.
i just told her about this scan done by Thisismatt (thanks! ;) )

OfficeMax is DA BOMB!

I ordered online @ 8:30PM on 1/31 even though it was on BACKORDER status cuz I knew I would still qualify for the rebate if it came late. ANYWAY, the drive came TODAY 2/2. I am amazed, I didn't expect it for at least a week! I applaud OfficeMax for coming through for me.

Just finished burning some test CD's using Adaptec Direct CD, CloneCD and EZCD. All work great and much faster than my old 4/2/24 HP Burner. Great Deal at 129.89-50MIR=79.89
Today is the last day for purchase on the $50 MIR from HP
