Has anyone else ever heard of Apacer before. All I can think of is "A Pacer" (as in the car....) Anyway, I'm voting this cold at best. Don't buy generic memory. Buy Crucial, Muskin, Corsair, at least some reputable company. Cheap memory only causes strange problems/crashes.

I've never heard of this company before this thread, so their products clearly don't hold a torch to anything worth my time.

Sorry, lame deal.

It was a reputable company when pc133 was around. Don't see how it could change.

So because you two weiners have never heard of Apacer, this is a lame deal... Wow, how arrogant. Apacer is a good and reputable memory maker - actually I think all they do is slap chips on PCB. I have a few sticks of PC133 Apacer still running on the wifes P3-866 and one kid's 1Ghz Duron. No problems with either. Thanks for the deal and don't let the t-crappers get ya down!

OK this is not about Apacer sucking, it's about us trying to find out why we should not buy Crucial for less and should instead pay more $$ for Apacer.

It used to be "Yes Crucial is nice but check out this "SUPER HOT DEAL!!!" which costs a lot less..."

But he's saying pay more for Apacer because Crucial sucks. I don't think so.

This is a pretty lame deal, sorry. Personally if your out to spend any money especially on computer junk, you'd be better off saving up and getting closer to top of the line stuff. I would recommend pc 3200 ddr or better just cause its dirt cheap like this junk. And nowadays the newest boards like my "Gigabyte Sinxp" can support dual channel ddr making this stuff as slick as poopie out of a goose.

I've got to chime in about Crucial's warranty service. I've bought maybe a dozen pieces of memory from them over several years. All performed flawlessly except for one which failed after a year and half in (of course) my mother in law's computer. I'm over at her house trying to figure out what's wrong with the computer, narrow it down to a bad DIMM. I call Crucial. Everyone I spoke with was very helpful, they didn't give me grief about when did I purchase it, etc-they looked it up on their system for me. And cross shipped the replacement DIMM that day (charged my card, but gave full credit immediately when the bad one arrived). They kept me posted every step of the way in the replacement process with frequent emails. As far as I'm concerned, Crucial's customer service is absolutely topnotch.

Apacer may have good memory products, I don't know, but memory is one of the rare components where I will always stick to buying a known brand name-Crucial, Mushkin, or the like. I've had no-name memory in the past and don't care to live through the intermitent problems it causes. Quality memory is essentially the same price or cheaper, and I can live without the frustration for a couple of dollars more anyway.

And kitmura, please edit your title to make it descriptive of the deal-that's common courtesy.

Apacer has been around for a long time. It is part of the Acer/Aopen group. They normally use quality RAM chips on their sticks. I have never had any problem with Apacer RAM but I've heard a few other people around here complain about it. I believe it has a lifetime warranty.

If it's true that there are no additional discounts/coupons for Crucial, that there are no Best Buy rebates for Crucial, than we would own kitamura an apology. The only people who can set things straight are the other Senior Members who originally posted that Crucial was cheaper or whoever cruized the hot deal forums recently for Crucial deals.

I don't think an apology is in order.

I have a couple of the 512MB 2700 Apacer Infineon chips and they work fine in my Epox 8RDA+. Some people are pure snobs about memory, like it is caviar or something, where the more they pay the better it is. This is cr@p. If it works, it works -- end of story.

bilbois don't pay attention to the thread crappers. If you find more hot deals post them. I'm not loyal to either but believe both are good.

Got 2 sticks of Apacer PC2700 512MB sticks (Infineon Chips) a while ago for $119 shipped (net cost $59.50 each), from Accessmicro.
Works fine on my Shuttle SN41G2.
