You get a postcard in the mail about a week after submitting your rebate request to Quantum, and you can call toll free to track the progress. As far as rebates go, I think they're great.

hey I have a Adaptec 2940UW controller, it only supports up to a 40MB/sec transfer rate. Will it work with this drive?? The PCI card has both 50 and 68pin connectors.

It will work and you probably won't notice a performance drop at all with the LVD function on SCSI drive not enabled. As long as you keep the chain small.

Just it and a CDROM drive and you'd be stright and no performance drop. LVD's 80MB/s rate is really intended for huge chains (e.g. RAID), thats why there's the high throughput ceiling.

Hope this helps.

BTW Bonkers: you cant beat this deal with a stick. Good find.

Can all SCSI cards so RAID or do i need a specila one? I was gonna get two fo these drives and run them RAID 0 but I don't wanna spend money on an expensive card.

You must have a Hardware RAID card to do hardware RAID with SCSI

You can do software raid with 2k and a normal SCSI card (but not the boot/os drive)

68 pin; the other one 80 pin is SCA

you can get a highpoint card to do....oh wait, that's for ide

yeah, scsi just does scsi, raids can do scsi though, if you get the right model
