How often is an m-16 fired in 1 minute under battle conditions? Maybe what 50 rounds? Here you have no gunpowder, so all the ammo weight is bullet, thus instead of toting around 50 rounds you can carry say 200 rounds. Also, instead of firing 50 rounds in the one minute, in bursts of say 5 bullets, you can rather fire 10 bursts of maybe 20 bullets, thus being much more leathal.
