Super Gun fires one million rounds a minute!!!

:Q

That's 16,667 rounds per second! How the hell?

:Q

Edit: Oh, it has multiple barrels.. But still.......

With a technology like this, who needs NMD? Just shred the missile into bits with velocity controlled bullets, giving them just enough penetration to get into the missile and do some damage.

Hmmm.. I remember seeing a similiar gun on a navy ship.. called "the mother of machine guns" or something like that.. 1000k rounds.. w00t !!

Sounds promising if a missle could be developed that used this technology.

hahha .. that reminds me of robotech! would be really cool though ...

Meh, it's stupid, all the videos show is the gun firing without reloading. Sure, it can fire fast, but how long is the reload time and can it sustain firings due to the tremedous heat produced?

You're firing 1 million rounds a minute - does it really matter how long the gun is reloading?

I'm wondering how that thing doesn't overheat in about 10 seconds. It would be interesting to see how they took care of the issue.

Yes it does. Look at the videos, the gun can only fire bursts of 36 bullets at once, after that it needs to reload. Really useless if the reload time is more than a couple of secs. Also, think about how much ammo this thing eats. This has to be a heavily defensive weapon, no offensive force can carry enough ammo for this gun to be useful.

How often is an m-16 fired in 1 minute under battle conditions? Maybe what 50 rounds? Here you have no gunpowder, so all the ammo weight is bullet, thus instead of toting around 50 rounds you can carry say 200 rounds. Also, instead of firing 50 rounds in the one minute, in bursts of say 5 bullets, you can rather fire 10 bursts of maybe 20 bullets, thus being much more leathal.

disclaimer: All numbers are hypothetical, b/c i've never fired such a weapon, much less been under battle conditions.

very interesting how it works.. This weapon was developed from Ink-Jet technology..

Download the 80m video, it is really interesting
