whats with the 4 off 'CORSAIR TWINX1024-3700 PC3700 2X512MB' as that is 8 sticks of ram, and even the top socket 939 m/b's only have 4 dimm sockets, so surely that would leave 4 sticks unused, get those out and the price decreases rapidly. also the socket 478 cooler, for a socket 939 cpu i'd go for a socket 939 heatsick, but then again i am quite traditional!! nice set up tho.

1200.00 Phase change(with case and power supply)
799.99 AMD FX-53
350.00 1gig memory (either 2-2-2-5 at PC3200 for multiplier overclocking or Higher timing PC 3700 for FSB overclocking)
400.00 2 raptors
150.00 Audigy 2 ZS
400.00 20 inch CRT (I still prefer for hardcore gaming)
450.00 x800xt or 6800ult
150.00 939 PCI Express or AGP motherboard
300.00 at most7.1 Speakers (which ever is best at time)

That would be a great system, but you should read his post again. He is using Canadian funds, so 3500-4000CND is only 2653-3032USD. You could still get a great system for that. Just ditch that phase change case, that is just plain silly.

its quite simple
start out with the HIGHEST FX processor you can buy (by the time you buy Fx55 may be out), pair it with a Nforce mobo
buy a x800xt
74 GB raptor (dont raid more chances of it dying)
1gig of corsair XMS ram
Audigy 2
Klipse 2.1 Speakers
Antec 550W PSU
Lian Li Case
