Good luck... Nice price... BUT.....................

Never cheap out on Pow Sup.... User Antec, Power PC Cooling or Enermax.

They don't say how heavy this is... and it's extra 7.50 to ship it out. Making it 37.50 to ship.

Found this review. Looks like the PSU did pretty good.

I kind of trust dan. Tho this isn't an identical power supply it's prob the same unit so maybe this is a GOOD deal! :)

Oppainter of extremesystems reviewed this PS about a year ago here, and on page three he'll tell you how to manually ajust the 5V and 12V lines via a trim pot inside the PS.

Overclockers also reviewed a nearly identical PS here.

Ive actually been trying to get the 14cm fan version of this PS but it has been sold out of directron for awhile.

Actually, it was the 450W model, however it was impulse and I don't have a need for it at this time.

Actually I think you are referring to this which is a 450w psu and it has gone back to 39.99 so I would say that 29.99 for a bigger, better psu is still pretty hot

Only reason Im holding out for the one with the 14cm fan instead of one with 4 fans is noise, because the small fans have to turn more rpms to move the same amount of air and 4 of them should make this one pretty loud.

I usually dont post here about deals, but I have to vouch for superflower, or any flower PSU's. I had the TTGI powersupply, and it was astonishing. I just ordered this, as I was needing a new one anyway. Gracias!

I have a 550W TTGI, the one with one 14cm fan on the botton. I paide $75shipped for it. This is a very good quality PSU. I would difinetly recommend it. Especially this one for $29.99. You can go wrong.

Great find.

Thanks! I was just looking for a new power supply yesterday and it has to be atleast 500. 550 is what I prefer so the 450 super flower deal yesterday just did not help. Altought I almost placed an order to see if it would. A friend has had a superflower for quite sometime now and told me when I get another one that is the way I should go so I hope this proves him right. He loves his super flower power supply.

I got the $15 450w one from yesterday. I already have one and LOVE it! These are nice and heavy. If you go looking for info on them you can also look for TTGI brand. (Same co-brand.) Some reviews for the same unit are under either of these names.

In other words...$30 + Shipping = HOT DEAL!

I would say these are lower-high end Power Supplies. I got my 450 Watt w/two fans for $50 at a local B&M. One thing I like more about the two-fan is that the fans are HUGE and Quiet! With four the noise is not all that bad but really not what you would call quiet.

If you believe that you need 550W power supply you need to educate yourself. Borrow a DC Clamp on Ammeter and measure your power consumption. There is NO CHANCE that it will be higher than 300W. In fact, it will probably be less than 200W.
My Measurement Example:

P4 3GHz
ATI 9800 Pro
1024MB RAM
6 Hard Drives
CDR-RW
DVDR-RW
MAX Measured Power(Peak reading): 240W Turnon, 210W Steady State

Eh, but why pay $20 for a decent 300W psu, when you can get a 550W for $30 + $7 :(

The price is good for $30 , but I think the $7 kills it :\

www.svc.com have the 140mm version for $70, a friend got one a couple of weeks ago - it has 10 molexes!

This one looks OK, but 4x 80mm is goign to be a lot noisier than a 140mm.

But it's not really that simple, and I actually think that the "peak" power-on load would probably be a bit higher, but your meter lacks the precision to accurately measure that amount, since it appears for such a short time. (But your steady-state power load numbers do look right for that kind of system. I would expect "peak" to be closer to 280-300W, maybe more, considering six HD motor spin-ups.)

The bigger issue is how much of a load does it draw off of each particular rail. It's possible to be drawing "200W" of actually steady power-consumption from a PC, and yet still, a "300W" PSU won't handle it, because of the loads on the individual lines. AMD's guidelines suggest (I believe) at least a combined +3.3v and +5v output of at least 180-200W. Most cheaper generic "300W" don't actually meet this spec, with combined power output of only 150-165W. Better-quality supplies with higher combined ratings, or "bigger" generic supplies (if they aren't just up-rated for marketing purposes) can also handle it.

But if you were trying to point out that most modern PCs, don't actually take "550W" of real power, then you are correct. But the problem is matching them up with an adequate PSU, especially since a PSU marked "550W" doesn't actually deliver 550W, either. (I would expect it to at least deliver steady power of 300-350W, hopefully.)

Well, you never know. Maybe the higher shipping charge, is indicative of a fairly heavyweight PSU, which would actually be a *good* thing, since one rule-of-thumb for checking the quality of PSUs seems to be the weight, which is generally higher if they use better/bigger components inside.
