If you don't knwo what SARS is, take look here
currently, there are 1408 case worldwide.
and more than 50 people dead!!
I think the number is way underestimate, since SARS's early stage is much like flu, most people don't bother to seek medical help.
CDC has issue Health Alert Notice for International Travelers Arriving in or Returning to the USA From Hong Kong and Guangdong Province, People's Republic of China, and Hanoi, Vietnam.

edit: it should be in OT, oh... too much beer........

Yeah - areas infected are actually quarantining whole blocks and against people's wills.

Heh, I haven't watched TV for quite a few years... as for newspaper, I do read it, but maybe only once a week or so. I keep myself informed mainly through Yahoo news.

Listening to NPR this morning, they reported that SARS has been rampant in China since November. They just didn't tell anyone about it...

Not really, the news is so much sensationalized fear and propoganda I choose not to watch it. I don't wan't to be aware of ever tragedy that ever happens anywhere, I find that overwhelming.

Ha ha, it's not that he doesn't like TV, he's just holding a mammoth grudge that his gf took his TV when she split! Can you say "lewzer"? ;)

I guess that depends on how contagious the cold is and how many of my family members have died from it!
