I don't think so. The HD 4830 should be a good bit ahead of an HD 5670 and even slightly ahead of a 9800 GT.

Yeah, I know - eight month old test, etc... Still, I think all other things being equal (most current drivers for all) the HD 4830 would still be ahead.

I kinda wish I'd gone with that 4830, but it didn't get recommended and discussed until my deal for the used 9800 GT was almost done. Oh well. I'm stuck with the 9800--hopefully the card's in decent shape. If not, $60 burned, lesson learned. I can always get that 4830 if it doesn't work out. 😉
