Super Cheap PC accessories from RADIOSHACK!

This isn't a special that RadioShack is running, its more of a realization that many cool computer components can be found there cheaper than the online case-modders websites.

For example: Radioshack has a really good selection of LEDs at better prices than online and there's no shipping! I was going to buy some Blue and Red LEDs and some LED plastic clips online. Then I looked through the RadioShack catalogue and saw the same items for cheaper, plus they have chrome LED clips.

They also carry FANS, THERMAL INTERFACE MATERIAL, CABLES, SPIRAL CABLE TUBING (to organize the mess in your case), and more.

Please post if you know anymore cool, computer related, stuff that can be found at your local Radio Shack!

3-pack of double density 3.5" disks? They're still hanging there in the computer section, and people who don't know any better still buy them...

I saw them clearing out 5.25" disks for $3/10 pack at Office Depot...and people were buying those!

the thermal grease there isn't all that good... but the lights are nice. now if only they had cold cathode

Not everyone has the latest Greatest XP or Northwood system. There's quite a lot of mileage left in 'obsolete' computers.

For my part, I find it amazing that people insist on buying New cars and then go and buy a 'used' house.

Personally I think only food, drink, clothes and a house should be purchased 'new'.

<edit> and if you think about it, for most Urban dwellers even their 'water' is ~used~...

What the heck is wrong with used clothes? They rock for painting clothes or working on the car clothes. You must have grown up in the suburbs 🙂.

Now used underwear - there I don't definately don't go. Someone does because the resale stores sell 'em but jeeze...

What's wrong with buying a "used" house? Most of the ones for sale are the "used" variety. But if you buy a "new" house, isn't it on "used" property and 999 billion year old dirt? Plus, it's kinda cotsly to demolish an old house and build a new one there.

Just think of those suckers that live near Madison Square Garden and those Penthouses nearby. Those suckers paid millions for those old apartments! Haha! Suckers....!

😛

The universe is only like 15 billion years old.

There's very little cheap at radio shack.
I know because I've been in quite a few of their shops over the last month or two looking for stuff.
For example...
They want $19 for a 120mm fan, I got the same thing on the web for $2.99.
They want $10 for their 80mm fans, I got the same thing for $1.89.
They have no fan grills or conducting paint and in general they don't have what you're looking for.
Their cables and connectors are invariably over priced.
As far as I can see the only thing RS is good for is radio controlled cars.

Heck! I was only born yesterday, so the World is barely 24 hours old for me. But even I know that going to Radio Shack is a whole lot better than ordering stuff from overclockers.com at a 'minimum' of $12.95 Shipping...

And speaking of deals as we are, I fail to understand this whole 'hoo-hah' about Crucial Ram (or the even more expensive sorts like OCZ and Kingmax, or whatever), I brought SDRAM from Best-buy, CompUsa and Circuit City just before Xmas and paid a net total (after rebates) of $6 for 3 sticks of 128 PC133 SDRAM. They run exquisitely fine at a FSB of 150 all mixed up together.

What was it that Barnum & Bailey said...???

Radio Shacks's Minimus 7 Speakers were one of the best deals of all time (when you got them at their 4 times a year $60 a pair sale) for those who appreciate good sound and needed an inexpensive set for less demanding uses.

It is amusing to read the reviews of things like the Klipsch 5.1 set. I wonder which Universe were the reviewers ears brought up in? Bad speakers in a set of 6 are actually worse than a good stereo pair.

...and man were those minimus 7's constructed well! I blew a pair up, but that was with my old Onkyo dual-mono power amp (120w/ch 8ohms, you could arc weld with this jewel! No clipping here, so much headroom you couldn't see the ceiling).
