Yes please.

The result would be a car with a 200bhp-plus VTEC petrol engine powering the front wheels, and electric hub motors driving the rears. It would have four-wheel drive and offer performance on a par with that of a conventional 350bhp vehicle, but with fuel economy to rival a regular 2.0-litre petrol unit.

Not in this thread because this is old news... Honda is getting into the habit of these "Ultimate" concept cars. The Ultimate Integra/RSX concept made it's rounds last year. Yet again, a car that will never be made. No big loss...

TSX = Euro Accord if you haven't made that connection yet... again, NFS4 reported that too.

Duh. Yes, this is old news. I think this concept is more plausible than you think.
This isn't an "Ultimate" car... this is a very possible, innovative drive train they're making here. I don't see why it can't be done.
Honda NEEDS a 4 wheel drive sports car, and this is it.

Edit: This isn't just another production car, this is sweet technology.
There will be a large boost from the electric motors driving the rear wheels. Regenerative braking will recharges the battery powering the electric motor.

Acura reportedly developing high-performance hybrid RL for U.S.... the DN-X...
In concept form, as the 400-hp Acura DN-X sports sedan shown last spring in New York, and as the Honda Dualnote shown earlier in Tokyo, Honda officials claimed 42 mpg. Look for the hybrid RL by 2004.

Actually, it is an "Ulimate" line concept... even your article says it is. According to Honda execs through Autoweek, there are no plans for the concept to make it to production. Especially the sedan... they hinted that a coupe version would be more appropriate for production.

Honda has done a few 4 wheel hybrid drive vehicle concepts lately (Edit: yeah, I saw the DualNote at the NYIAS). They don't really have any experience with traditional AWD drivetrains like Toyota, Nissan, Mitsu, or Subaru in the performance segment. I don't think they need an AWD or 4WD performance car... they've done fine without boosted factory cars as well. They're trying to stick to what they know best.

by the time this super accord is released. The m3 will no longer have its hp-in 333 range and would offer something similar or not superior to their concept

You know some ricers out there will rice out their Accord/TSX into the exact carbon copy of that concept car.
