Sunshine = worst movie ever

seriously... wtf

I had heard good things about it, and apparently the only reason people wanted others to see it was to justify their dumbass seeing so they could say "dude! wasn't that horrible???"

ugh

it was good and had potential until the last ~30 minutes. Then the writer/director stopped trying and smoked a bowl.

Yet. I think everyone agree with this. first 2/3, awesome, last 1/3 horrible. SIgh, the film had so much potential

Exactly! I've seen statements that stated "wow the movie was great until freddie/jason/chucky/pennywise showed up!"

at least event horizon knew what it was from the beginning...

sunshine made me root for the bad guys, i wanted humanity to fail in that movie

They shouldn't have given away so much in the trailers...like the extra person on board. Now everyone knew what was going to happen and it killed suspense.

Dude.. worst movie ever? really? what are you smoking.. it's miles away from being worst movie. And that's measuring by writing movie titles in 10 pt font and stacking them on top of each other.

They should rewrite the script and reshoot the final 1/3. Movie could have been one of the best scifi films in the last 5 years given the amazing cinematography and score.

The trailer was fucking awesome. The beginning of the movie was good. Then they went into retarded creepy slasher mode w/ the commander of the 1st ship. Ugh.

They couldn't figure out what kind of movie to make it. The first two third sseemed as though it was going to be about the psychological / physical components of such a journey. The last third was a fucking horror movie. It was really too bad, the movie had so much going for it.

Yeah great movie with great music until the end with that tard captain from the other ship. That turned it into an ok movie with a lot of lost potential

I enjoyed the film over all. Yes the last 1/3 wasn't great but when taken as an overall film, I thought it was pretty good. It definitely entertained me.

The movie was at least watchable up to a point. My first problem was the premise of the movie. The sun is dimming and we're going to send a spacecraft to the sun and it's going to drop a humongous bomb into it to jump start it. It's science fiction so we're supposed to believe this is a possibility. My second problem with the film was the lack of character development. Throughout the movie I didn't care about any of the characters or what happened to them. Then there was something of an attempt to make it a thriller with the shield problems and having to borrow from the fist spaceship already marooned there. I just never felt emotionally involved at all.

Spoiler below if you haven't seen it.

And this is where it attempted to become a horror/slasher film, and a very bad one at that. 1 out of 5 stars for me for the visual experience.

Wow. This movie is a basically The Core, except the ship is going in the opposite direction. They both are not good movies, but I enjoyed them for the SciFi elements.

It was bad, but not the worst movie ever. That title belongs to Freddie Got Fingered.

"Gods and Generals" was the only movie I've ever walked out of the theater on.

Yeah, I actually quite liked the first half, but I'll never understand why they went the way they did in the last part of the movie, I mean there were so many other things they could have done and not soured the entire movie while doing it, but they decided to, well you know (don't want to put any spoilers).

I'm not sure if I can agree with you completely. I've seen some of the worst movies ever. Sunshine isn't the worst, but it ranks in the top 100 easily.

That's really sad considering the budget of the film and its box office sales. Better movies have done far worse somehow 😛
