Damn I was watching CNN and then switched back to FOX only to realize that both reported the same damn thing ! The Shiites and Sunnis are now praying together in the same mosques. Hell Sunni's who fled Fallujah were greeted with cheers and given comfort by Shiites in Baghdad. Before this war these people hated each other and had been killing each other for hundreds of years and now they have come together. We should thank Bush for brining these people together with the common goal of killing American soldiers in Iraq. So yes Bush is the great uniter but in Iraq and not in the States.
P.S. - Some people say that Iraq is not like another Vietnam and you know what ? It's not another Vietnam ! I think they are correct in this opinion. If anything Iraq is more like Afghanistan in the 80's. They are similar because in both Iraq and Afghanistan the foreign power in control of those countries each installed puppet governments. In both countries the foreign power controlled the cities but not the country side. This is evident by the fact that some convoys carrying fuel and supplies to the battle in Fallujah were blown to hell and thus way we had a cease-fire.
The tactics of the insurgents in Iraq has been to attack convoys via ambushes or road side bombs. In Afghanistan you can still find the wreckage of Russian convoys and their remains from the 80's which were destroyed in a similar manner. In both countries groups of people who once hated each other and who had previously been killing each other for hundreds of years have banded together to fight a common enemy. In both countries religious zealots were/are drawn to these nations like moths to fire to fight off the foreign infidel. I fear like Afghanistan, Iraq will end up with either a religous extremist Sunni ( Taliban ) goverment or a extremist Shiite ( Iranian style mulah state ) government and we will only have to go back there again because Iraq will become a haven for anti-American terrorist once we leave. So yes people Iraq is not like another Vietnam it's more of a 80's Afghanistan if anything else. Of course Afghanistan was Russia's Vietnam though.
