Just heard that Karl Rove...oops, wrong forum.😀

Anyways, ram prices are still crazy.
- 512 PC2700 for 16.99 AR starting sunday.
The ad in the circular says 2700/2100 but the ID # is KVR333512R
So most likely only 2700.
Reg price is 59.99- 30Mfgr- 13CC= 16.99

HD deals:
- Seagate 120gb 8mb cache $39.99 AR
- 300gb $99.99AR

Desktop deal:
- HP Pavilion Celery 335, 256mb, 40gb, dvd-rom, with INCLUDED 15"LCD- $198.99 AR.
Also includes a free printer, not sure which model.
Reg. price: 648.99- 180Mfgr- 150CC-120 instant= $198.99
Upgrade in the store.
Also includes 9 in 1 card reader.

Lappy deal:
- Toshiba 360J CeleryM with 256, 40gb, built-in 802.11g, dvd/cd-rw, 15" TruBrite
549.99 AR.
Reg. 749.99- 200( not sure if Mfgr or CC )= $549.99
This deal is only interesting for the TruBrite screen.

CC rebates are usually reliable- I've gotten all of mine, except for a lite-on 4xdvd/rw drive 2 years ago.

Of course, most of these sales are multiple rebates. A big headache if you have 6 rebates going to 3 separate addresses (e.g. the memory deals).

Would that be the Toshiba A85-S107?

that 300gb is about $115 after tax.

if you price match it to Sam's Club, its about $80 after tax. just search for the WD3000JBRTL on sams website.

If you need a new Large HDD, the 300WD looks like a good deal if you pricematch it to sams.

i know a lot of CC's do not price match to sam's.. as iv learned by my nearest CC. but there is another one just about 4miles away from me that will actually PM anything i wont any time. So good for use who have access to such a pleasurable CC store. but im not jumping on this because iv gotten HDDs from them already, so for myself the 300wd isnt worth it unless i could get it for ~$50.... and that would still be 5x more price per gig then the last HDD i got from CC.

WOw looks like the Desktop celeron one is hot. Do they use proprietery ram? Any AGP slots? Looks like it could be a borderline nobrainer.

Anyone know if the 300gb WD drive, WD3000JB, is the same series of drives as the WD3200JB? I've got one of them in my computer, and I'm extremely happy with it, wouldn't mind putting a 300gb version of it in my tivo.

What socket is that Desktop Celeron (478?). Could I just replace it with a P4? Also, what socket is the Laptop celeron? Could I replace it with a P-M. As you can probably tell, I dislike celerons =)

Curious... is there a link to these deals??? Would like to check the specs of the PC. $200 may be too good a deal to pass up!

Thanks!
Bruce

From what I understand, the desktop uses the Celeron D chip, rated at 2.8ghz with 256k cache, and it's based on the 90nm Prescott core.
It should be comparable to the Sempron 2800.

I did a google search, yeah- it says model A85-S1072.
Close!!!🙂
Apparently, it's shared memory, using the ATI mobility RAdeon 9000IGP graphics.

The Celeron D isn't THAT bad. But, if you get a mobo that supports the D, you can easily replace it with one that supports a prescott, since teh celeron D is based on the prescott. PS, the Celeron D is comparable to a 2,4 P4 northwood. pretty good if you aren't an avid gamer IMO. I can do alot of things with my old 2.0B northwood with 512 MB ram.
FREE LCD TOO BTW. So lets say the LCD is 150 dollars, and WIndows Home is 50 dollars. You get your moneys worth right there!

...except, pricematches are typically for the same item, and you mention a Western Digital drive, while CC has a Seagate drive-- good luck on that one, fella. 🙂

About the Pavilion, the printer will most likely be the DJ3845. It's $70, and theres a $50 MIR with the computer, and a $20 MIR for the printer. If you want to get a better printer, you lose the $20 rebate, but you still get $50 from HP.

Dang guys, I think the desktop is built-to-order and not available for in-store pickup.🙁
Shipping costs are prolly outrageous.
Check out FW if you want the feeding frenzy tidbits.

Called my CC and, according to them, the printer is the HP PSC1410 Printer/Scanner/Copier . Don't know if it varies by location. They also said that the shipping charge is $30 for me. Also don't know if that varies by location.
