So I went to Puerto Rico for spring break this past week. 80F+ weather, full sun, and a great beach, the works. Long story short, I got pretty badly sunburnt in Saturday.

Fast forward to today, my skin is peeling all over my upper body - chest, shoulders, upper back. However, I looked in the mirror and in the spots where my skin peels the worst (on my shoulders, from my backpack) my skin is turning pink. It looks really weird because the surrounding skin (that hasn't peeled) is tan. Anyone know if this is permanent or will the tan come back to that skin? Right now it's blotchy and gross.

Just to clarify, my skin is pink where the top layer of skin peeled away. I've been rubbing at some spots in hopes of exfoliating it or something.

I've been using this lotion with aloe and it seems to help moisturize the skin, but it's still pretty bad.

Sorry i was too busy boning them to get any pics.

No tripod? Rookie mistake...

If it starts leaking you are rubbing the wrong spot.

Why weren't you wearing sunscreen ya moron?

I thought I didn't burn :awe::awe: I've only ever burned once in my life, but 3+ hours of direct sun exposure at the beach every other day three times coupled with the fact that I hadn't actually gotten a real tan in at least four or five years means burned skin. I finally realized that I was gonna get owned the last day, but I thought that I'd be swimming first, so I didn't bother to put on sunscreen. I ended up swimming half the time and standing with my feet in the water the other half, getting burned. By the time we went to our towels and put on sunscreen it was too late.

Yes, it will turn tan.

Aloe, while it is good for the pain, will actually make you peel more. Lotion is a better alternative.

its pink bc its new and prob not ready to be your skin. eventually it will look normal. you can moisturize and reduce the peeling, but that skin is all dead and will come off at some point or another
