Sunbeam PSUs

Hey ho,

I'm looking for a new PSU and found this one: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16817709021

It's 750W, 2 +12V rails at 30A each, 80 Plus certified, very silent, 4 2+6 PCIe pins...

It's a Sunbeam, I don't know this brand at all. Is it a quality brand or just a cheap ripoff?

Looks like Sirfa. I believe Tuniq is owned by Sunbeamtech and Tuniq uses Sirfa. This also looks like a Sirfa. It can be crap, or it could be mediocre.

I wouldn't take the blurb written on newegg at its word about how quiet it is either.

Only a 1 year warranty to boot. I personally would look elsewhere.

This Antec look good. 4 +12V rails 25A each (dunno if it will make any difference for the common folks hehheh) plus Antec is great I heard.

I'll check this out then and not being cheap on the PSU...Antec, Corsair and other good brands only!

Finally I just ordered the Corsair TX750W from NCIX for only 114CAD...really good price for the quality!

Great choice, i have a 850TX myself and its one hell of a PSU, got it onsale for 119CDN. When given the choice always go with a large single rail, then you dont need to worry about which plugs are from which rail and can never overload a rail.

I was going to cry when i saw this threead i thought you were actually going to buy that sunbeam.

Hahah well, after reading a lot about PSUs it's just a part you don't want to go cheap and surely seeing the TX750W for that price I just bought it.

Plus, the whole single/multiple rails was just irritating so that single 60A rail is really nice.

I bought it cause yesterday I realised my OCZ 450W had not enought SATA power connectors for my HDD and my new DVD-ROM and DVD burner I just bought too heheh!

So don't worry, no Sunbeam!

Ok! Received the TX750W monday at lunch and installed it on the evening with a nice cold from a local microbrewery...hmmm!

What a beast really! Even if it's not modular, I had enough space on top of my DVD-ROM drive, so all the unused cables are hidden there.

I'm really impressed with this product, easy to be since it's my first high quality PSU.

Anyways, just wanted to brag a bit, Corsair just got my vote!

Question: Would it be possible to replace the stock fan with a new LED fan easily?

Can it be done? Yeah, rather easily. Should you do it? Depends on if you care about the warranty.

Well looks like it's not a good idea.

I wouldn't want the Corsair awesome warranty to go up in smoke...
