Btw forgot to say this - i do think you can notice between a fanboy and an AEG member easily, because - a fanboy knows when his preference is not the best (like every nvidia fan knew nv30 sucked) but AEG members ALWAYS make up some crap to benefit their company

Bottom line is, those who actually believe them and buy a crap product because they got wrong advice deserve it, and should pay more attention next time (same thing for someone that buys a card like 6200 512 mb just cuz it has 512 - blame it on misinformation)

This RE-VOTE is itself a double jeoperdy against Rollo.

Honestly, this forum would be a much better place without you, beggerking...

This is exactly the type of thread we don't need in this forum, and is typical of the type of nonsense you bring to AT video.

...at best it's in-intelligible, at worst defamatory.

you should be more honest. Why don't you just just make another vote with the only option to vote ban? or get a list from mod and ban everyone who voted "no" to ban Rollo?

this IS double jeopardy. We voted already. The only purpose of this new vote is to try to vote ban on Rollo again.

I was commenting on your repeated call to ban all trolls...

I really don't know about your whole double jeopardy claim... These polls are infotainment only, the outcome won't actually result in a ban even if it's 100 to 1 in favor.

Rollo and I have had our words in regards to his involvement, am comfortable with the note in his sig. I don't care if anyone is a member of a focus group or gets free video cards, my issue is with disclosure of this fact.

here we go:

sickbeat:
I think it's pretty fair to assume that the trolls who don't have their profile enabled are "clones" of Rollo or another agent.

They can't possibly keep track of a full background story (address, wife, job, family) for 100 different people. That's especially true if people start asking specific questions about the area they "live" in. They probably have a system down, i.e.:

Wreckage = cruel and unusual
beggerking = young and inexperienced

The list goes on. Just a few general personality characteristics are enough to cover up what they're doing.

My guess is that between 5 and 10 "members" here are Rollo-clones. Just food for thought.

joker admits:
I'm actually hoping that after this AEG fiasco, the 7900 launch will give everyone a chance to discuss things with civility without allowing threads to fall into chaos. I'm guilty of fanning the flames at times when I felt passionate about an issue but will also do my part to avoid this in the future.

I say jokers okay then. I have posted in the first few pages in that thread asking him to stop flaming. I'm glad he came to his senses.

I voted yes, but it will hardly change much in the grand scheme of things. Here, the club is known as AEG. But in reality it exists in every industry, in every market. For each one of these groups we find out about, how many remain hidden?

well, I was showing Ayala's trollness by PM and talk crap about me.

so we already had results from the other thread. Why setup another one if its for infotainment? or would it make you feel good to see a poll where more people agree to ban Rollo? So if this poll still results in opposing the ban , would another one be set up?

beggerking, you are only further proving that Sickbeast and Joker are a little overzealous in their AEG hunting, you labeled them "radical ATI flamers" something you either have to prove or retract.

"little"? 50page thread (still growing)? I was flamed numerous times while asking them to stop the flaming and stick to topic. Tons of other members were flamed for no reason at all.

Fine I shouldn't have said little, but thats not the point you are changing the subject, you labled them "radical ATI flamers" either put up or shut up, show proof that they are "radical ATI flamers" or retract your point

as much as your post is very well written, and projects, as far as we know, accurate arguments.....we just didnt need another AEG thread. no offence the OP but you may have just lit another touch paper for the fanboys here to explode into a slagging match. thats the mentallity of this place, and like you i now spend more time elsewhere

oh and before the inevitable lock, id just like to say......

the people screaming about ethics every 5 posts, wake up a little......big business couldnt give a hoot about ethics, if it makes them more money and doesn't break any written law (which this doesnt) its golden.

I have posted examples in my previous posts:

here is my argument: I believe they are more destructive than Rollo, therefore I voted no to ban Rollo. If you were to ban Rollo, for the sake of making the forum better, then you should also vote to ban all flamers.

No. I don't think Rollo, or AEG members should be banned.

That said, I do not, I must emphasise that, not agree with the methods used by the AEG marketing group.

I do believe that a sticky topic warning for new members should be placed in EACH forum, as I'm sure there are not just video marketers in AT member lists.

I also believe that all of this is speculation until AT provides a statement of position regarding AEG and their members.

I do think that the ATi Vs. nVidia flame wars has got to a level that is intolerable, and I think that some modertors should be brought into effect to issue warnings based on specific guidelines as to flaming based on video card preference. AT evidently has some capable writers and brains to create these guidelines, so input from users should not be accepted, unless they happen to coincide with AT's official stance on AEG's members and methods.

I don't care about names as to who does what, because that's all subjective to the users complaining.

If the AT does indeed do something to this effect, past behaviour should probably not be taken into account, a retroactive system would see some members banned in thirty seconds flat, who given the proper incentive (IE; not being banned) would clean up their act sufficiently.

fresh off the other thread

joker:
Hmm lets see Crusader just joined and has a sig. advocating marketing shills. Yeah I wonder if this guy is an alter ego of some shills here and/or another AEG guy that's been lurking. Either way, you're a noob here, your opinions don't carry much if any weight.

LMFAO

I was trying to ignore this stuff, but I'm glad the OP made this post otherwise i would never have known ROLLO LIED. Rollo should be banned for getting others banned by lying. Anandtech really needs to clean this stuff up.

BTW, could somebody tell me if ROllo admitted it first or if NVIDIA/AEG just revealed it. I dont have enough time to read through 1000 posts unfortunately.

beggerking, I'm not sure you understand my point, you said Sickbeast and Joker were "radical ATI flamers" you haven't posted anything that proves that either prove ti or withdraw it. I'm not going to defend their overzealous attitude on the AEG thing but your attempt at a holier then thou attitude to get Sickbeast and Joker banned for doing things you've done is also indefensible.

whether its flame or "overzealous" is subjective, but Rollo has not done anything different from them, in fact, IMO Rollo's posts are usually less flaming/overzealous than Joker or sickbeast. I believe keys has posted a conversation between Joker and BMG where Joker flamed BMG(who is usually proATI) for pointing out 1900xtx's overly loud fan.( its in the other AEG thread, but 50pages is way too many to dig through to find it).

I am opposed to ban anyone on the forum. But:

Since they are all overzealous/flaming(rollo,joker,sickbeast), I see them as being on the same level of destructive to the forum. Your motion to ban only Rollo is unfair. If you really want to ban anyone, then ban *all* flamers, else no ban.

I think they're waiting for the proof for when you said "radical ATI flamers". Why did you say "radical ATI flamers" instead of "radical flamers"?? WHere does the "ATI" part fit in? They are zealous in their efforts to be rid of the AEG people but I fail to see where the "ATI" part comes in.
