Is that something I would put on the threads before putting the lug nuts on?
Put a very thin coat on everything except the conical seat of the lug nut (and therefore the nut seats on the wheel).

The nuts won't fall off because of the lower friction - it's the system preload that holds it all together.

BTW, drop the torque once you lube - some people say by 30%, some less... I don't think the exact figure is crucial since there's a lot of safety factor designed in.

Also, breaker bar + 5ft steel pipe ftw.

I'll just start with a breaker bar for now. My current + shaped lug wrench has probably 8-10" of leverage. I saw a breaker bar that was 25". I'd think that if I couldn't loosen it with that, then I'd put away my tools and pay a shop to do the work. D:

Thanks for these tips, guys! Learn something new every day!

Oh yeah, is it mostly just auto parts stores that sell anti-seize?

I've got Bridgestone RE-01R's on my ride that I had on year round in FL. We moved back to NC in Dec and surprisingly, they weren't all that bad. If the ground was cold, they would lock up easier in a panic stop, but otherwise drove normally.

Now the moment anything remotely white was on the ground, she was slippin' and slidin'.

The 01R's are getting worn though. Bridgestone has up to $100 mail-in rebates on their tires this month, with the RE-11's getting $100 and the RE-760's getting $75. I can get a set of RE-11's for $696 or the RE-760's for $453 (plus shipping and mount/balance of course, after the mail-in rebate).

Decisions, decisions...

I got my summer rims on (15x7 Motegi Traklite 2's), currently with 195/55/15 all seasons, that rub a bit.
I hope my shorter but wider 225/45/15's don't rub... but I think they will. Fender rolling yay!
