so really, whats the point?
First impression. You can never get that back. Sorry to break it to you but you are immediately judged on your appearance within about 20 seconds. How you look, how you carry yourself, your body language, your confidence - all can be seen in about 20-30 seconds without you even saying a word.
so basically i'm lying to them. thats the other thing i don't like about interviews. you have to lie about stuff.
i never wear a suit as i mentioned before. i wear jeans and t-shirts all the time. thats who i am, not a suit.
Dude, interviewing is a skill. Focus on your strengths and make your weaknesses and failures out to be experiences that you've learned from. Bullshit, selling yourself, and experience is what gets you hired.
I used to hate interviewing. I hated it with a passion because I thought people should hire me because of how good I know I am but in reality you have to develop interviewing into a skill, you have to be personable enough with strangers to get them to like you. Practice practice practice, research the company you are interviewing with, ask pertinent questions. You'll only get out of an interview what you put into it.
If someone who works for me was dumb enough to hire a person based on their suit I'd fire them on the spot. Dress appropriately for the job you are interviewing for. Interviewing is a skill and one you have to work at and develop just like any other skill.
