so i just got the message from my mom her good friends daughter (had some issues with drugs and such, had 2 kids that are adopted by the mother) stuck a pistol in her mouth and pulled the trigger this morning.

I have never met her but i know her parents (were at my bar mitzvah/ family friends) and it shook me up a bit.

being depressed and hearing this news really put a scare to me, now i feel un easy and un comfortable. its such a sad story

Dude you have had some troubles lately, perhaps talk to a councilor or a chaplain.

I agree with the moose, you sound like you should talk to a professional

a guy i worked with growing up and knew from my pool as a kid killed himself a few years back. he hung himself and his ex girlfriend found him.

but he was always a kinda crazy guy in general. knew he came from an abusive family and he was really hyper active. he was heavy into drugs and drinking as well.

i hadn't seen him in like 3 years when i heard the news but either way it was kind of a shocker. while he was pretty crazy and annoying sometimes, we did have some good times both at work and outside of work partying.

what really is shaking me up is apparently the convo the mother had with the daughter the night before, "your dead to me / youll never see your kids again" are somethings that the mother said to the daughter, i guess it just pushed her over the edge.

Good for you, it takes a lot to get help with depression, and just seeking it is an obstacle too many don't overcome.

ATOT has always been great in that people will look past any disagreements to offer help and support.

The only person responsible for a suicide is the individual who takes their own life. I'm sure the mother was no saint, but the daughter was the one with the problem and she chose to kill herself rather than get help.

This is true but a possible lifetime of verbal abuse sure is a pretty good push.

Honestly, people not helping or getting help for someone they know has some issue share in the blame in instances like this. Often times there are signs but people choose to ignore them. Let alone if they actually outright antagonize them like the mother did here.

iPhone SUX!!!! er... perhaps not the thread for that.

I always get shook up when stuff like this happens, even if I barely know the person.

sorry i dont get it:eek: ( i use osx)

nvm, it was an attempt at comic relief.

Off-topic, Bob marley is pretty awesome. Do you listen to Notorious BIG as well cause he is West Indian. Try making some reggae beats and put some BIG/Marley acapellas together  - that should be a cool break to get your mind off things.

Cheers
