Saw it tonight. It was entertaining. Disjointed and all over the place, but a fun popcorn movie nonetheless. Whole lot of stuff jammed into the movie though. No reason to have Joker in it other than they could. Most importantly, Margot Robbie is hot. And that excuses a lot.
I saw the movie Thursday night, and just got back home from seeing it again tonight (they held it over at the drive-in, and it was the movie that was playing with War Dogs.) Agreed. (That Margot Robbie is hot.) But, it seems the movie would have been better with quite a few of her one liners removed - it turned her into a sort of Jar Jar Binks character tossed in for comic relief. The director should have increased her screen time without increasing her spoken lines. Maybe it was the film editing, maybe the camera angles, but lines like "I like her, she seems nice" just didn't seem to work for me. Increase the elevator scene, with better angles. Maybe increase a couple other scenes with her, but cut out those one liners. Also, it was like the director thought, about every third scene, "hey, you should have a Long Island accent. I forgot that in the last scene, but no problem." But, for the most part, she seemed to do a decent acting job, but poor directing - bad ass one minute, then pounding on a dead monster with a baseball bat for comic relief the next.
But, when I was watching it Thursday, about an hour into it, I was thinking that if I was just listening to the soundtrack (and full songs, rather than 15 second clips each time they introduced a new character), that would have been more enjoyable.
