Just out of curiosity, did any of you see the extended version? Or are we only judging the theatrical here?
Generally no. But if it's cut for time and pacing issues, which results in complaints like "characters don't have enough time to develop," it's a logical remedy.Shitty movies are generally not improved by making them longer.

From what I've seen, extended cuts that you have to wait until the blu-ray for (I assume this is a marketing ploy to sell more physical copies), have more often than not been infinitely better than the theatrical release. I don't know what problems it solved in this case, since I've been skipping the theater for most movies simply because of this fact, but I enjoyed Suicide Squad's extended cut.
Personally, I always skip the hype train, though. Nothing worse than setting up something to fail in your own mind by settings expectations you've created of it yourself. So if it's only "not good", because it didn't live up to the hype, then your opinion matters little to me.
The two complaints I heard from the theater would both be solved by replacing the screentime that Harley Quinn's ass was flaunted for us with more scenes for Joker. Personally I had a problem with neither of those things from the extended cut.
Dawn of Justice was also better than I had expected after hearing the reviews of the theatrical version.

In which case if you uncut the cuts that were made for time and pacing issues you re-install the time and pacing issues that necessitated the cuts. Shitty movies are not shitty because they're too short. Who on Earth could possibly finish watching Suicide Squad and think "Yeah, I wanted another half hour of that!!"?

Must one more
Me.
I dunno, I guess it's because I'm not so into comic book movies that I really care about the superpowers or whatever magic they can supposedly do. I mean, dead shot' marksmanship is more impressive than most XMen powers because he apparently is like Batman in just being really good with guns.
And all comic book plots are stupid. They all follow some dumb formula where they fight a bunch of bad guys leading up to the big boss fight. So the plot not making the most sense...doesn't matter.
Suicide squad imo had better camaraderie than avengers, better characters, more real characters like people you'd meet. It felt a lot like when you're going out to bars with friends and people you just met on vacation. Like, the thing about comic book villains is that they're how people really are, and suicide squad was better able to capture how people really are.
The thing about him is that he's a moron. This is the "why don't we have glass roofs?" guy.WHAT?!? That might be the most ridiculous thing I've seen someone ever say about comics. And that includes people going on rampages about race.
I remember people complaining that the previews lead everyone to believe that the Joker was in it way more than he was. Having said that, I don't recall anyone complaining it needed more of him in it. If anything he was so bad that I felt he should have had much less time.
