While suicide is selfish, it is even more selfish for forcing someone under immense depression to stick around. Think about what the person is going through that would drive them to do it.
It has nothing to do with being happy "24hrs a day". Most people with heavy depression just can't cope when they -never- feel happy. There is a big difference. If you are talking about those little wanksters who jump off a bridge because someone dumps their ass after 2 dates, then sure...thats plain stupid.
Lastly, you will attract a lot of people to this thread who are angry and call suicide cowardly. I'd bet that most of these people are hurt and have lost someone to suicide and are still pissed off about it. They can go fly a kite and stop being so damn selfish and think of what that person must have gone through.
in this world, odds are someone's been through worse and came out fine.
while i feel bad for people who go through tough times, ending your life is the easy way out.
It has nothing to do with what someone else has experienced. If there is one truth in the world its that no two people are similar. You should know that by now. While some can cope others can't...you just can't compare the two.
how do those who think they can't cope, know that they can't? they never lived life until the end to find out. they gave up, instead of seeking help.
sorry, i can't find compassion for people who end their lives early because they can't deal with it.
once they're gone, there are usually lots of people left behind who have to deal with the pain.
