I was talking about the main spot on the front page. The Fatah/Hamas inner-jihad has been dominating it for a while.
Also, I remeber the mosque incident a month or two ago, where the brave freedom fighters run into a mosque and then shipped their women like cattle in front of it to faciliate their escape. During the process some women were obviously hit, and this end up front and center on the BBC front page.
Was that incident so much more newsworthy, or a world shaping even then this suicide bombing?
I don't decide what does or doesn't appear on the main page, and I don't particularly care because I end up reading most of the content I find there anyways. Much News today comes out of the Middle East because it is such an unstable region at this current point in time, thus it makes sense for that news to come from there. Thus I see no problem with the current situation because BBC clearly isn't trying to "Hide" this information away. What you are trying to do is point out that because it ISN'T the front page information, that BBC is blatantly biased, or if not blatantly biased...they are atlesat trying to downplay things.
Maybe if the story was hidden at the bottom of the page in small links that would work. Maybe if the title was something like "3 Israelis Die" and nothing more. But CLEARLY they stated that the attack was carried out by a suicide bomber, and CLEARLY on the MID EAST PAGE it is the front news story.
Maybe to you it is simply about pictures - but I would hope the average readership in news would bother to read links rather than click on the 3-4 stories that have contain a little picture somewhere in the neighborhood of 100x100 pixels. Maybe I expect too much of humanity? Because if I did, then even on the Mid East page under "OTHER TOP STORIES" we would ignore news such as this:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/6307745.stm - Yemeni Jews flee Islamist threat
==============
Now back ON topic. At best this will beget more and more violence. At this stage I wonder what the hell whoever sent this bomb is thinking. Do they reallllly think that they can get rid of Israel as this stage? Israel, despite its Gaza "pull out", still controlled a few key factors in the region so bombing a location isn't going to help ANYTHING...its just going to allow Israel's quite control to step back up into full assault mode.
edit:
So basically...you are bashing BBC because they release information on their own report telling them how they should alter their language to be more "neutral"...
Oh Gawwwwd, I wish our stations in the USA did this!
Btw here is the title: "
The panel examined only the BBC's UK domestic public service output
The BBC fails to always give a "full and fair account" of the Israeli Palestinian conflict
but is not deliberately biased, a report has said. "
