Meh...what were folks supposed to do?
Call the cops? Over a post on Facebook?
It's unlikely that the cops would take it seriously.

Go in person to intervene? Why? It's "her" right to take her own life.

Is it "Sad?" Nope. People take their own lives every day. It's not sad...it's stupid.

"Oh, I can't take it anymore. I'm gonna kill myself and leave the mess for others to clean up. Never mind the mental anguish this will cause for friends and family, it's all about ME! This will show them!"

🙄

Well yeah, her friends should have called her and then the police if they couldn't stop by themselves.

I had a girlfriend take a bottle of pills on New Years when we were breaking up and I went out with some smoking hot chick. I called her friends and they were worthless to help her. I couldn't get involved in it as she was doing everything she could to make the breakup impossible...plus I really liked this new chick and she was understanding as it was I was still living with an ex.

Anyway I had to call her mom finally and she took her to the ER. They don't think she would have died, but she'd probably made herself a candidate for lifetime dialysis.

that is how i feel about sucide. its the weak way out. it causes more greif and termoil for the family and loved ones that find you.

the other suicide story is nowhere near this one. this is a women that was after attention and just refused to take control of her life. she cried wolf one to many times.

suicide is rarely (sad to say there are times its is a option) a option. but this was not one.

only people i care about are her friends/family that now have to live with it.

It was probably a bottle of Maalox. You seem to have that effect on women :awe:

People take facebook seriously at all?

I mean, according to facebook, I'm gay, currently looking for a 15 year old boy to wed, my profile picture is some Asian stereotype picture which isn't me, part of the Jedi religion, and my photo albums contain Japanese dudes who look like girls.

what a misleading title. many wanted to help but none were close enough to get to her. and they text her mom.

Exactly! Who takes Facebook posts seriously?

SandEagle dislikes this.

Just minutes after the post a friend replied, 'She ODs all the time and she lies.'"

some friends.

I learned about the work of Robert Sapolsky. What it comes down to is people need the human equivalence of social grooming. And if you only have contact with people through an artificial means, you miss that part. People become isolated and emotionally disconnected. Anonymity of the internet. You are there, but at the same moment you are not there... Even a picture does not chance that.
