Sorry for the common question, but I like opinions 🙂

Anyway, my current PC specs are Barton 2500+ at 2.2GHz, 1.5GB DDR400, 9800 Pro. I will be getting an Epox EP-9NPA Ultra, and a Venice 3000+. The only thing I'm stuck on is the video card. I'm lookin at either a 6600GT or an x800gt 256MB. I play games such as World of Warcraft, BF2, Empire Earth 2, etc. I also have to play at 1280x1024 due to my LCD. I wouldn't mind being able to use at least a lower level of AA and AF as well. Thanks for any advice.

PS. My current PSU is an Antec TruePower 350W. I don't know how much that will effect my system, however I don't have much in this box. One IDE HDD, two optical drives, floppy, SB AUdigy 2 Value....thats about it.

Want to spend up to about $450 for the whole deal. New mobo, cpu, and 6600GT put the price right at $395.49 at Newegg. Gives me a little room, but not much. I would maybe consider going over $450, but just a little, and only if really worth it 🙂

EDIT: Forgot to mention, my current PSU doesn't have the new PCIe power connectors, so a new PSU might be needed for a higher end video card.

Dunno, still kinda' leaning twords the x800GT... I can always get a much better video card later, but I have to buy one now for the new mobo. Would the 256-bit memory interface along with twice the ram as the 6600GT make the 800GT better at 1280x1024?

just wait 2 weeks prices will go down...and an x800gt isn't crap. if you liek running all of your games higher than 1024x768 with eye candy, then yes an xl or 6800gt is the way to go.

I'd get at least a x800 (non-gt, non-anything). You can get those for the same price as a 6600gt, only these are faster. But if you want to play with all the eye candy at 12x10 or higher res, the x800xl seems like the bare minimum, as well as 2 Gb of RAM. But anyway, wait a few more weeks for the new Ati cards, then you'll have more options.
