I am thinking about upgrading to either a 19" or 21" CRT or 17" LCD. For those of you using 19" or 21", what resolutions are you using and how small does that make text (I mostly use spreadsheets all day). Also, is it true that LCDs are still behind in terms of image quality when compared to CRTs.

I use dual 21? monitors each set at 1600 x 1200 at 85Hz which gives me a 3200 x 1200 desktop. If you use spreadsheets like I do, you will love it. The nice thing is even at the high resolution the OS and applications let you scale the fonts to larger sizes, thus you get the benefit of high resolution and large easy to read fonts. CRT?s still have a major advantage over LCDs in resolution capabilities alone.

I love my 19" Sony CPD-G420 at 1600 x 1200 x 85 Hz. The colours are crisp and have excellent saturation while the text is razor sharp.
